Gentle Friends, our Christmas around here was so nice...with Most Holy Redeemer opening up Christmas Eve (20%) occupancy...and even with that there were only about 30 people scattered about the sanctuary, the choir was all 6 feet distancing in the choir loft...it was a lovely service.
Christmas Day dawned bright and sunny and we started getting ready for our Christmas Lunch with our "Bubble" friends only...we started off the afternoon with...a couple of hot hors-d'oeuvres...I made bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with camembert and a baked brie covered in cranberry relish with that we had to have libations so...
...I made a pitcher of Scarlette O'Hara's and Teresa made Blue Hawaii's...
... before we sat down I took this snap of the table... we had prime rib, sauteed string beans with almonds, Gratin Dauphinoise (fancy scalloped potatoes) dinner rolls ... and the Christmas Cake this year was...
looked lovely Edgar!

It sounded like you had a lovely Christmas, Edgar. Looking forward to seeing the snap of Little Birds.
ReplyDeleteYou always set a pretty table, tell me about the china pattern.
ReplyDeleteThe cake sounds and looks wonderful. Any chance of a recipe? Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteI love those glasses. Such fun!
ReplyDeleteLovely table setting! Love those plates. Cake looks absolutely delicious
ReplyDeleteYour Christmas does sound like it was wonderful....The menu exquisite, the libations so fun...but PALEASE pass the cake already!!! It not only sounds amazing, it is beautiful!! I'd love the recipe too! I think BBD "Little Birds" is on my dance card. Given my name, I've always been partial to anything birdy. I finished my little stitch (well, finished the stitching...haven't decided how to "finish" finish yet) and was looking over patterns. I really should switch back to my hooking project but we'll see. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic Christmas dinner!! We had a nice fairly empty Church service on Christmas Eve too. Because the gov is not allowing indoor singing, they move several Carols outside before the sermon. I was glad we opted for an early service. 11 pm would have been very chilly! Happy New Year to you and Rico!
ReplyDeleteDelightful table setting and sounds like a wonderful menu. That cake looks amazing on the delicate plate - and would be perfect at this moment with my cup of tea, Mmm. Happy New Year.
