Commenting on Comments and Mural Snaps

GR&DF thank you once again for your very kind encouragement and well wishes!!!

Last night was a bust for stitching and flickers as I wasn't up for either and just passed into coma land with a hound in the stitching chair - not a pretty sight!!! After I snored myself awake at about 9:45pm I clicked off the the downstairs and shuffled on off to bed. I hope I am not getting sick or something.

I wanted to respond to some comments and answer some questions.......

Beth asked about my opening - GR&DF - for me it stands for - Gentle Readers and Dear Friends - I just like that way that sounds and the feeling of camaraderie I have for you my group of stitching buds.

Berit asked about SABLE - Stash Above and Beyond Life Expectancy - I reached that a good long while ago - so I figure why should I hang on to charts that I have finished that I will not use again - I should just pass them on...... keep watching for more things.

Colleen asked about my having a Give Away so soon - just passing along and sharing with others - there will be more.....

Sherry aka Celtic Dreamweaver mentioned a sampler I did about a year ago. The chart comes from an OOP French Magazine I had no way of getting and Julianne very generously loaned me her copy. Here is a snap of my finished piece - I remember I did change up the floss - it was charted for DMC and I changed it to GAST and WDW over dyed.

Patti mentioned wishing she had joined in on the Quaker AEoL RR. I do love doing RR's and group stitching projects. They are easy to organize and there will be others as this RR winds up at the beginning of June.

Maggie finished seeing the Thin Man Series - they are super movies - I really enjoy the teaming of William Powell and Myrna Loy - they play so well together!!! I highly recommend themas a group or individually.

Another film mentioned was "Pacific Heights" - 1990 - by Glenna - I have never seen this movie but will throw it on my queue to watch.

Here are a couple more mural shots....

How cool are those trees...

Don't forget about the drawing for the JCS Magazine. Leave a comment on this post and remember to let me know that the comment is an entry - thanks!

There you go sports fans. Thank you for stopping by and for your great comments!!

A Finish, a Witch and creamy goodness....

Let's start off with Le Jardin and a happy dance finish......

I finished this up on Friday evening and am so happy with the way it turned out!!! Now to get it framed - or more precisely get the funions to get it framed!!! And a great big THANK YOU goes out to Julianne as it was because of her that I was able to stitch up this lovely. The pattern is from an OOP Magazine and she very generously loaned me her copy!!!!! I have said it before and will continue to say - the stitching community is so generous it blows me away sometimes!!!!!!

The second piece I finished up was on Vonna's WFS RR
- here is a snap of the piece -

I stitched up the witch at the top. I used a PS chart from the book called Harvest Time. The floss' I used were HDF silks called Kodiak Bear and Brass Tacks. I am so happy that she fit into Vonna's squares as I have wanted to stitch her up for the longest time. She fits so well onto this beautiful RR and the great shifting is coming up next week so I am on time!!

While running around on Saturday - we stopped by Krispy Kreme in So SF and picked up some creme filled doughnuts and also stopped by Arizmandi Bakery and got a piece of their famous coffee cake - and it was very good, ahhh but those creme pillows of deliciousness.......

I saw some flickers this weekend, but the only one I will mention is "633 Squadron" - 1964 - a pretty good WWII film about blowing up a secret fuel depot - but the oddest casting was George Chakiris as Norwegian - if you remember - he played Bernardo in "West Side Story."

Thanks for stopping by - I will be talking about the Give-a-way tomorrow - so stop back in!!

Take care -

A RAK and a couple of films.

Yesterday's mail brought a wonderful RAK from Aubree.

That was so sweet of her - she included a kit to make a fob and a great chart from The Sampler Girl. Thank you so much!!!

Last night I was stitching away on another exchange piece - that I hope to get out on Tuesday. Toady I am mailing out the Mailart Exchange - I am sending it out a few days early as it has long way to go - I am concerned as I have never sent a piece without being in some sort of box or wrapped up. I am sure it will be fine and I have snaps - fingers crossed!!

Yesterday I asked about a translation for Le Jardin, Anna came up with almost exactly what I thought it was - my French is not as good as it used to be since I hardly ever use it anymore and I didn't think I had it just right - Thank you so much Anna!!!

The flickers last night were "Tunes of Glory" - 1960 a real tour de force ensemble piece headed up by Alec Guinness and John Mills. This was followed by "National Velvet" 1944 - One of the best Horsey Films out there!!

Thanks for stopping by!!!

A mid-week posting

Not too much going on - I did want to thank everyone on the nice things you had to say about my almost finish - Le Jardin - ... .and here is a question for those with a better grasp of French than me - the line on the sampler - how would you translate that?? "Chaque arbre a sa facon d'accuellir le Printemps." I think I know but thought I should ask in case my translation is way off!!

Last night the film was "Little Lord Fauntleroy" - 1995 a TV Mini series that was pretty good. I had wanted to see this version as I have seen the 1936 version a couple of times and had enjoyed it. Both versions are total family films and even when telling the same story it is interesting to see different interpretations. Monday evening the film was "The Solid Gold Cadillac" - 1956 - very entertaining Judy Holliday film and worth seeing her in action!!

I finished up my "MailArt" exchange and it is going into the mail tomorrow - and I will be on pins and needles until it arrives!!!

There you go - short and sweet!! Thanks for stopping by!
Take care,

Estate Sales - Stitching and Movies

As the title says - it was a weekend of once again running around on Saturday with Dale to various Estate Sales - and you know what - I really don't think that many of those that are running them out there seem to define Estate Sale quite the same way that I do!! We ran up against many sales that were really either glorified garage sales or fancy moving sales!!
I did find a few things... one is this lovely piece -

I thought she was just lovely. Not that I am all that religious or anything - but she just seems so serene - after a few mins on the Internet I find that she was made in the mid 1950's by the Hummel company in Germany. Now, Hummels as collectibles are not my thing - but this "Holy Virgin" without halo as she is listed doesn't really say Hummel to me. She now sits with my growing collection of religious icons and statues. In another true estate sale Dale found a crafters closet that was just stuffed to the gills with knitting, tatting, crocheting AND some cross stitching stuff - the majority of things were boxes and I mean boxes of hundreds of balls of pearle cotton in every shade and hue you can imagine. I asked the woman who was running the sale about how it was being sold and she told me to just go and get together what I might want. So that's what I did - I filled up a bag of hundreds of cards of labeled DMC floss. I also grabbed the silver and gold floss. The box/bag I was putting the stuff in once I got it home actually had some old patterns in the bottom that I didn't even know where there - and here is a snap of the gigantic basket I dumped everything into -

I stitched on an exchange - that I can't show yet - I also stitched some on Le Jardin - and here is the progress on that piece -

As you can see I am coming up on the finish to this piece - only a couple of evenings left. Shay asked about the floss' I was using - This is charted for DMC Floss' - I switched it all to GAST Over Dyed - I think they are more interesting. The colours I chose were kind of close to the DMC colours - the way I did it was to lay out the DMC and then choose the GAST. So the piece sort of looks like it might if using DMC - but then again it is my spin on the charting as I am using two purples instead of one. I am also shifting some of the colours when I don't like they way something looks when I am stitching - just doing what I like!! I worked on this piece almost exclusively yesterday since the flicks were so good on TCM!! Starting off the day with "Gigi" - 1958, then "The Quiet Man" - 1952, then "Roman Holiday" - 1953, then "A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" - 1945 and finally wrapping up the evening with "Moonstruck" - 1987 - what a great line up of super films!!!!! I didn't sit still all day - I also vacuumed the downstairs, cleaned the kitchen and made dinner - I am pretty sedentary but I gotta move sometime!!! :)

Ruth Rachel mentioned in the comments that she had been to the small town that "Giant" was made in - how great would that be!!! I have read that the movie just took over the entire place - I am so jealous!! and Deborah mentioned "Jezebel" a Bette Davis flick from 1938 - I have seen this film many times as I am also a Bette fan!!! Bette wanted to play Scarlet in a big way but Warner brothers wouldn't let her go for the part and she wouldn't have been right for GWTW. Instead she gave this Oscar winning performance. This was as close as she got to Southern Belle until 1964 when she played in "Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte." Chop...Chop!!!!

There you go - Thanks for stopping by and letting me bend your ear!!

Stitching and the flickers

I worked mostly on the exchange. It seems to me sometimes that I will get over ambitious with what I am stitching - with this exchange I am having to shift things around and do some frogging when it does not fit just right - Oh well it is really turning out well I think!! I also worked on Le Jardin a bit - Here is another shrub and a bird....

Not very much at all but every little nit moves the piece forward!

Last night the movie was "Look Back in Anger" - 1958 starring Richard Burton and Claire Bloom - What an unusual film - filled with self loathing and huge amounts of anger. Burton's character, Jimmy Porter, spews forth so much heated hate filled vitriol it is amazing that the TV didn't catch fire!! Interesting and rough movie to watch.

At work we are all old film fanatics and we where talking yesterday about "What 10 Movies" could you not live without - if you where going on a trip and could only take 10 - what would they be..... to begin with I couldn't even narrow it down to 10 - so my list is ....

Edgar's 15 Movies to watch again and again!!
In no particular order......

1. - Summertime - 1955 - It is because of this wonderful movie that the first place I went in Europe was Italy and especially Venice!!
2. - The Emperor's New Grove - 2000 - I love Disney Movies and am the first in line when a new release comes out (Pinocchio is coming out really soon!) This one has it all!!
3. Marie Antoinette - 1938 - Gorgeous if unrealistic version of the Queen's life with Norma Shearer in top form - I also love the 2006 version with Kirsten Dunst.
4. Giant - 1956 - There are so many great Elizabeth Taylor films I love but I picked this one.
5.Now Voyager - 1942 - There are lots of super Bette Davis films I really love and her career was so long - she is in top form in this one.
6.Trip to Bountiful - 1985 - A lovely small film at the end of Geraldine Page's glorious career.
7.Mildred Pierce - 1945 - There are lots of great Joan Crawford films but this sums up her great career.
8. Stalag 17 - 1953 - I love WWII films and this is both a great William Holden performance set in WWII.
9. Meet Me in St Louis - 1944 - A great nostalgia film and a super Judy performance
10. Goodbye Mr Chips - 1939 - A super movie - and I needed to include a Greer Garson title- this being her first Hollywood film and a super performance.
11. White Christmas - 1954 - One of two Christmas films I can watch over and over
12. Scrooge - 1970 - The second Christmas film I could watch over and over - Not the best interpretation of the Dickens classic, but it is a great musical.
13.Dames - 1934 - One of the many super Busby Berkley confections I love.
14.Witness for the Prosecution - 1957 - A great suspense mystery film.
15.The Women - 1939 - A stupendous ensemble film from that golden year of 1939.

There you go - my top 15 - Everyone has favorite films - what would yours be??? Think about it as it is very hard to narrow down a list!

Thanks for stopping by - It's raining as I type and is supposed to all day by dry out for the weekend!!!

Take care,
edgar

A fun weekend doing what I wanted to!!

And that's the truth!!!! Most weekends I have to give up and bend to others wills and wants but this weekend I did just what wanted to!!! To the irritation of some I am sure but you know what - they can just bite me!!! (my, my that was kinda harsh!!)

Saturday was a fun day of garage sale/thrift shop/ and Goodwill - carousing - we ran around to a bunch of garage sales, and even 2 Estate Sales and found absolutely nothing really worth getting - I think sometimes that garage sale-ing is very seasonal. It was at a thrift shop where I hit pay dirt - Here is a snap -

So I found some kitchen stuff. I needed a sifter as the one I had broke about 10 years ago and I never got another one. The sifter - $1.50, the strainer - $ .37, the wooden spoon - $.29 - so for a grand total of $2.16 I did pretty well - my question is...who on earth marks things 37 and 29 cents?? The majolica pitcher came from a store called Community Thrift - and was $10. I really love majolica and have a few pieces but it is usually so expensive I can't afford it. When I got to the counter with this cream pitcher - the woman there asked was it very old - I said about 120 years - I think she was stunned. This is about $40 or so off the true price so I got a deal!! It was a really fun day - even going out to lunch at "Good Frickin Chiken" in the Mission - really tasty Mediterranean Food - silly name fabulous food!!

I had a hankering for a favorite snack - so I made my version of Nuts and Bolts (chex mix) - I just love this stuff....

Every now and then I just get a craving and have to have some!!

On the stitching front - I worked some exchange pieces - so no snap. I can show a couple of other things I worked on..... Part Three of the ABC SAL posted on Friday - Here is the progress -

Part three was the GHIJ, reindeer box and the leaf band under. This is a really fun stitch and I can't wait for part 4 to post!!

I also worked on Le Jardin - and here is a progress on that piece -

This is working up really nice and I will be sad to see the end of it.

There you go - some high points from my weekend!!! We'll talk flickers tomorrow.
Thanks for stopping by!!

A Birthday Brawl, an exchange and some more Jardin....

This weekend we had our annual Birthday Brawl - that's what I call Rico's party - since his birthday is right between Christmas and New Years we always wait to have something at the end of January - and this year was no exception with about 60 or so people and it lasting until way after midnight - it was a real success!!! I was up until about 2 cleaning up and in the morning after gathering up the Birthday offerings - here is a very telling snap -

These were some of the things our friends brought to Rico for his birthday - they know us very well!!!! .......and there is a ton of cake left over!!!!

I heard form Heather that the Valentine exchange I stitched for her had arrived
- here is a snap of that exchange.

The pattern came from Goode Huswife and is called "A Valentine Sampler." I have always wanted to stitch this up but never had the opportunity. I am so glad that Heather likes it as it was not the first thing I was going to stitch up - but I think it was the better choice for this exchange!! I am still waiting to hear about my Winter House Exchange as it seems to be taking a really long time to get where it needs to be.......
Even with the party I got some stitching in -
here is shot of the weekend progress on the Le Jardin -

I did see two movies that brought back some memories - the first was "Coneheads" - 1993 - a movie based on a skit from the original SNL - starring Jane Curtain and Dan Aykroyd - I had forgotten this flick and really enjoyed seeing it again. The second film was also an oldie from when I was in High School - "Trading Places" - 1983 also starring Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy - a really funny Christmas movie with costars from yesteryear - Don Ameche and Ralph Bellamy. Speaking of Ralph Bellamy - I saw a film yesterday called "Below the Sea" -1933 with him as the lead male star... his co-star was Fay Wray of King Kong fame. Usually he was the second male lead and never got the girl!! All three of these movies were really fun and worth seeing!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

East Coast - West Coast movies and some stitching

Last night on TCM were some super movies in their on going month long look at east coast vs west cost movies. The line up last night started off with "42nd Street" - 1937, starring Ruby Keeler - a young starlet makes good on the stage. Followed by "A Star is Born" - 1937, starring Janet Gaynor - a young starlet makes good on film. The next two films were "All About Eve" - 1950, starring Bette Davis - neurotic stage star frets over aging. The LA film was "Sunset Blvd." - 1950, starring Gloria Swanson - nutty film star frets over aging. These are four super movies and worth seeing if you haven't - you will not be disappointed!!!!

During all that film stuff I did some kitchen cleaning - such fun!! The way our downstairs is set up I can sort of watch TV or at least hear it while doing some grungy housework!! After all that fun I sat down and worked some on an exchange piece. Then I moved on to some stitching on Le Jardin. Here is a progress snap -

It is moving right along. I am totally enjoying stitching on this piece!!

There you go - Have a great weekend everyone!!!
Thanks for stopping by!

Stitching and some Flicks

Last night was spent stitching on "Le Jardin"
- it is coming along nicely and I am really enjoying this - Here is a snap...

I have over the past couple of weeks been watching the box set of films called the "Sweetheart Pack" by Deanna Durbin. I had really never seen any of her films and was curious about how I would like them since I am a big fan of the musical film. I am waiting for the sixth film but the first five were super and they were ... "Three Smart Girls" - 1936 - Deanna's first film for Universal. After she was let go by MGM - they kept Judy Garland - Universal Pictures snapped her up and this film is what rescued the entire company from bankruptcy. The film centers on three sisters and is a 30's style Parent Trap type movie. Next up would be "First Love" - 1939, a reworking of Cinderella with the mean cousin played by Helen Parrish getting hers in the "end." "It Started with Eve" - 1941 - was a really great movie that costars Charles Laughton and is based on mistaken identity. Then there is "Can't Help Singing" - 1944 - the only color pick from the set is a period piece set in the western migration of the 19th century. The final film "Something in the Wind" - 1947 - a more contemporary film with more modern music than the classical pieces she had sung in earlier films. The sixth film from the box set is "Lady on a Train" - 1945 - I haven't gotten yet - it is a mystery movie and should be pretty interesting. Deanna's last movie was in 1948 after that she quit the movie business and moved to France where she has lead a normal a private life. I have enjoyed all this films and would recommend them to anyone as they are easy to watch and Deanna is so natural and honest that you believe the parts shes playing. Sometimes the plots a so thin you can see right through them but such fun it really doesn't matter. So if you haven't seen these films give them a look you won't be disappointed. Another film from last nights movie fest was "The Young in Heart" - 1938 - with a stellar cast including... Billie Burke, Paulette Goddard, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Roland Young and Janet Gaynor - in her last film role until the 50's. What a charming a wonderful film!! If you ever get the chance to see this film make the effort. It isn't on DVD so it is harder to see but you can often catch it on TCM.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Some Weekend and Stitchy News

I heard that another exchange piece had arrived. I am in an ornament exchange with some dear stitchers and I have heard that Cathy has gotten her ornament - she is the recipient for January. Here is a snap -

The pattern is from Heartstring Primitives and is called "Peace on Earth." I wanted it to feel like an old sampler piece. The ribbon for hanging is attached with two antique mop buttons. I am so glad that Cathy likes it as I really enjoyed stitching it together. Tuula has posted some snaps of the flat fold I made her. That piece was for the MAW exchange.
I have another MAW in the works for Jill - she wants a Brightneedle piece - now which one to do - they are all so very nice???

I received on Friday the very last exchange from the SBEBB - "Winter House" and my exchange partner was Becky K - and she stitched me a super little pillow - here is a snap of the entire exchange she sent me -

and a close up of the lovely stitched piece -

Knowing what a nut I am for the PS designs she chose a perfect one!!
Thank you so much Becky for everything!!!

On Saturday we went out Garage Saleing and Junque Shopping
- Here is a snap of the treasures I picked up -

I got the 5 Quart Casserole for $5 and the Christmas plate for $10 both at Goodwill shops. I didn't find a thing at any of the Garage Sales or the two Estate Sales we visited - that's the breaks sometimes there is just nothing out there to get!!

A new discovery for us was a Co-Op Bakery called Arizemendi - on 9th Avenue.
Just the best!!! I picked up some bialies for Sunday -

Talk about being in Hog Heaven!! I love these things - and usually by the time I get up and going the two bakeries on 24th street are out - BTW these were ever so much better than the ones that I can get closer to my home. If you ever get to SF and find your self in the inner Sunset on 9th Ave between Irving and Judah stop in and pick yourself up something. Next time we go - and there will be a next time - I am getting some of their coffee cake - something they are well know for!!!!

Yesterday I had a new start - "Le Jardin" - It is a really nice piece to stitch - here is a snap of what I have done so far.

I went with the Heritage since the mottled effect has a green tint that really goes well with the over dyed floss' that I am using. The original pattern called for only DMC but I shifted all the colours to over dyed and expanded the palette a bit to include an extra red and blue. The snap sorta sucks since I took it last night around 10:30pm - but you get the idea.

One of the movies I watched this weekend was "The Robe" - 1953 starring Richard Burton, Jean Simmons and Victor Mature. Such a really nice and BIG movie. Big actors, big sets, big scenes, big music and a BIG story..... I really enjoyed this and had not seen it for a really long time. The ending was a bit much but it was Hollywood in the 1950's. A great movie for Easter. Another film from the weekend was from last night on TCM - they showed "Bye, Bye Birdie" - 1963 - starring Dick Van Dyke (his first movie), Janet Leigh and Ann-Margaret. I am a sucker for this movie and always have been!! Who wouldn't want to visit Sweet Apple, Ohio for a little while - AND - who isn't mesmerized by Ann-Margaret as Kim McAfeee (Her second movie - her first was being the daughter to Bette Davis in Frank Capra's "Pocket Full of Miracles" - 1961, BTW another wonderful movie!!)

That's about all I can inflict on you today - Thanks for stopping by!!!

Take care,
edgar

Feeling better

Almost back to my normal level of just odd with much less leakage!!! I guess I just had to work my way back from the brink so here I am at Thursday and as in the title "feeling better"!!

Last night was a wash in the stitching department as I did very little and the little I did was working on exchange things I can't show just yet.

I did watch a really very good movie - "England, My England" - 1995 - starring Simon Callow as Charles II and Michael Ball as Henry Purcell. The movie was interesting in that it jumped from the preset back and forth into the 17th century. Using the framework of Purcell's life and his interaction at court the film builds on this to show some gorgeous costumes and play that glorious music - at 2 1/2 hours it was really worth seeing.

Thank you all for your input about Le Jardin - I think I am going to go with the Heritage linen as the piece will eventually be a present ( I am aiming at next Christmas) and although I like my fabric all blotchy and wacked I am not too sure how well it would go over as a gift.

Have I mentioned that it has been unseasonably warm here the past few days - in the low to mid 70's and bright a sunny - now whats up with that!! We are supposed to start to drop into a more normal rang over the weekend but like I always say "Believes it when you sees it!!"

Thanks for stopping by!

Out sick yesterday - and not that much better today

I stayed home yesterday and was out of contact with the world - starting Monday night and all day yesterday I was expelling the most awful things from my person - not a pretty sight!!! Needless to say I am not a 100% today but at least I could leave the house and get to work.

I did no stitching as I really didn't feel up to it - I did however get out the floss' for my next start I talked about on Monday. Here are two snaps with the linen choices and floss -

The piece on the left is PTP Fog - the piece on the right I am not sure of - but it is big enough to handle the pattern.

The piece on the top left is PTP Heritage, the piece on the top right is Silkweavers Days Gone By and the bottom piece is PTP Sterling. I am kinda liking heritage.

There you go for today - hope to be back to normal (or as close as I can get) soon!!

Thanks for stopping by!!

It's Thursday....

.....and you would think by this time in the week I would be able to get it together!!! I am so far behind in blog reading that it just isn't funny! I got a chance this morning to see whats up over at the Ornament swap and a ton has been going on - Vonna has gotten some gorgeous ornaments!!! What a talented group of stitchers those ladies are - I hope when mine arrives it can stand the test!! I totally loved the ornie I made for sweet Vonna so much that I am making me one just like it! Last night in the realm of stitching I worked on AND finished the MAW for Gabby - so that it CAN leave today - I really think it is cute and hope that she likes it when it arrives - in the next week or so. I also worked on the VoHRH some and here is a snap of the progress -

The mail yesterday was super as I received my Christmas Ornament issue and some stash
(like I needed more!!) Here is a snap -

You knew I was going to get that "Alphabet Zoo" - so when I was placing that order with Drema I thought I would also get the "Quakers and Quilts" as it was another one I HAD to have - this chart has quite a few extra bits in it and an extra chart I didn't realize was included is on the back cover - so you really get a ton with this chart!! The silk pile is me steadily stashing away the NPI for the Shores of HRH and I am getting very close to having them all... I think I am going to trot over to NIAH and check out the linen .... I also want to kit up "des Arbes" as I know I want to change the colors from the model...I need to be in front of the racks of floss to decide.

There you go - thanks for stopping by!!

Square One finshed - Now on to square Four - and Le Jardin...

Last night I finished up square 1 on VoHRH and moved on to Square 4 - just the border and some of the grass - but it was a start.... here is a snap (I finally got some batteries) -

Square 1 worked up really quick - I am really enjoying this piece again - but my radar is set on starting "Shores" - I got that chart as soon as it came out and REALLY like it a lot!! If truth be told I printed out a picture that I have hanging on my bulletin board at work and look at that dumb thing all time - but, I am NOT going to start it up until this one is finished - I do have a little tiny bit of will power!!! Though I do sit an obsess about it...like what linen should I use as I do not care for that yellow/gold the model was stitched on ( or do I???).... I know I will do it in silk as I love the way these large pieces look in silk - and silk feels so good to work with...... I am working "Village" in the recommended NPI silks and love the way it is turning out.... too many thing to think about - lets move on before I start to drool like a Pavlovian dog or something!!!

Yesterday the mail guy brought me Julianne's copy of the
French magazine that I was searching for - that she has generously loaned me!!!
Thank you so much!!!!!!!

The chart I was looking for is called "Le Jardin des Arbres" - I saw it surfing around and instantly knew I needed to stitch this - and I eventually found that it was published in a French magazine I had never even heard of
- here is a very poor snap of the finished piece from the mag. -

They have it finished as a banner - I don't think I will finish it that way but just have it framed - but who knows - that is a long way down the road!

Last night on TCM was Peter Lorre day - and they showed "The Maltese Falcon" - 1941 - also starring in the Falcon are - Humphrey Bogart, Mary Astor and Sydney Greenstreet. I always enjoy this picture - so I would heartily recommend this film!!

Thank you all for stopping by both new and returning readers -
and thank you for the comments you know how I like them!!

Take care,
edgar

A Carol for Christmas

 Gentle Friends...I think I'll post a little carol...enjoy _______________ ...Rico and I wish everyone a wonderful Christmas!
