Remembering a Star

Gentle Friends you may have heard that on Sunday we lost another Star from the Golden age of film, Mickey Rooney. He was not your typical leading man, being of small stature.... but he was a giant talent and brought some really wonderful parts to life on the silver screen.

With his gal pal Judy Garland they made some of the most memorable films of the 1930's.....

Here's a wonderful piece from TCM.......

TCM is also canceling their regular programming this Sunday 4/13 and having a 24 hour Mickey Rooney Film tribute. Here is a list of the films they will be showing (all times are EST):

6:00 AM Broadway to Hollywood
7:30 AM The Devil is a Sissy
9:15 AM A Family Affair
10:30 AM You're Only Young Once
12:00 PM Captains Courageous
2:00 PM The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
3:45 PM The Human Comedy
6:00 PM Killer McCoy
8:00 PM Boys Town
10:00 PM Men of Boys Town
12:00 AM National Velvet
2:15 AM Babes on Broadway
4:30 AM A Midsummer Night's Dream

That's about it for today sports fans, if you get a chance try and catch one of the films on Sunday or if doesn't work -  most of them are available on DVD/Blu Ray and rentable.

Take care,

  1. I heard the news about Mickey Rooney -- so sad. Thanks so much for letting us know about the marathon on Sunday. I have to set myself a reminder!

  2. WWWWhhhhhaaaattt....No Andy Hardy??
What is wrong with them? Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering about a tribute.
