Some Weekend Stitching

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends I am running so behind this morning, but I wanted to get a quick post up.  Thank you so much for commiserating with me and helping with a "Blog Intervention" regarding my poor addiction.... it is quite OOC (out of control).  I did have a few emails about the acronym SABLE - it means Stash Above and Beyond Life Expectancy.  I think we all reach there at some point - I know I have... but, I still enjoy many of the New releases and just "must" have them!!
____________

I will truncate this post with showing only two pieces of stitching this morning I have been working on - one is a RR finish for Loraine - she very graciously allowed me to complete the missing Lower RH Corner of her lovely piece!!  Here is a snaperoo of the whole thing...

I jacked around with the colour in the photo and it is still far from how beautiful it looks in real life - this great piece is stitched in HDK silk called "Kodiakery" and GAST "Brethren Blue."  It was a joy to work on and I do appreciate her letting me have a go - thank you so much Lorraine!!  It will go out in today's mail and should arrive home in a few days.

I also worked on ATS and set myself the goal of finishing up the "cloud."  Here is a snapper of a finished cloud!!

There you go, two stitchity things - I have a bunch more things to talk about with quite a few snaps!!

Thanks for stopping by, do stop again!!

Take care,
edgar

  2. Quaker Samplers can be so much fun and the RR you worked on looks to be no exception. The photographed colors of the ground fabric and floss look lovely even if they don't to justice to the actual piece. And I applaud your stick-to-it-iveness where the cloud of ATS is concerned. Some of the large blocks of color in these more ambitious pieces [like ATS or your HRH] can become a bit of a bore even if you love the piece as a whole. I am dealing with that dilemma currently in Block 2 of Primitive Needle's Black'd Skie. Ah well, it's a good thing I am just as much a process stitcher as a product stitcher, enjoying both the journey and the destination. I suspect you might be the same.

  3. Beautiful RR piece. I haven't seen a RR where it's one pattern. I've always thought it's different designs, but I guess there's all different types of RR's. I like the Brethren Blue thread. I want to use it on La D Da's Quaker Alphabet, so it's nice to see how it long on the RR. Happy Stitchin' Monday!

  7. Edgar...I am tickled pink...giddy with excitement...and a little teary eyed. The motif's you picked, are perfect. I absolutely love it!
It is I, who is grateful for you and your stitching talents. I could not have picked anything more lovely to stitch in this bare section. Thanks so much. I look forward to getting it framed really soon.
I am sending you a piece of linen, and can't wait to return the favor.
    Have a wonderful day.

  8. The RR sampler is an absolute beauty! Well done on helping out to get this baby done! I love the little blue strawberry up at the top of the sampler - I think that I recognize it from the CHS Love chart? Brown and blue is so pretty together.

Congrats also on an impressive start on ATS. It's one of those projects that I look at and sigh admiringly, but I know that I don't have the strength to get her into the harbor... Anyway, I just love the cloud with the "swimming" birds. :-)

  21. Gorgeousness all around!! Two things: 1) I love the name "Kodiakery", and 2) It looks like those birds are "swimming" in that cloud! Both pieces are fabulous. =)

  22. Lovely Edgar! I know I don't comment all the time but I do love seeing your updates. :)

If i may drop one little piece of advice in your ear. If stashing makes you happy and isn't bankrupting your household then it's better than spending that money on more damaging things like alcohol, drugs or other addictive substances. (at least that is my justification for it, lol).

  30. Love the RR finish and ATS is looking great. I've heard if you can make it through the first cloud the rest is easy (heard only, I haven't dared even look at stitching this one as I don't need another BAP in my WIP basket)
