A 3-Day Weekend Post, Part I

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends I am breaking up the weekend post into two postings.
I have bunches of snaps and I wanted to do them justice.
I also didn't want you to get overloaded with them!!
__________

Lets start off today with some stitching snaps.  I organised an exchange in the HOE group - "Fall Pyn Keepes" and I received my wonderful piece from Diana - "Log Cabin Life" - and here is a snap...

I love the finish and the lovely little Fall bird!!  Thank you so very much Diana!!!  I also heard form my partner, Kathy that the Pyn Keep I made for her had arrived....

_________

Other stitching, I worked mostly on Shores of HRH this weekend -  and here is the progress I made...

As you can see I am working on the sea fill but have moved on and finished up the other bits in the large rectangle and then moved on the square 7.  I am thinking of re-working the words in this square from a memorial to an unknown sailor to something else.....  maybe a signature block or something like that.
__________

On Sunday we visited a farmers Market and I got some nice little snaps...

some of the great looking Fall apples...

peanuts in abundance always mean Fall to me..

I can never pass up a vibrant pile of peppers....

and we picked up some of this, the last of the summer corn.
__________

We visited some Estate sales on Saturday and picked up a few things...

From l to r  and old Nelson McCoy piece, a new salt box from Sur la Table and a ceiling boss - this is a replica from Winchester Cathedral called "the Green Man."
_________

I will leave you with a snap of some who-hounds getting along....

This is huge - since the three older hounds wouldn't let Smokie into the beds (there are three of them), he is making some head way with Lolly at least.

There you go sports fans.  Thanks for stopping by do stop by tomorrow for part two of our weekend.

Take care,
edgar

  1. I always love your farmer's market posts. Makes me feel like I am there. I made your Honey Bun cake this weekend to rave reviews from my husband. He has found your baking site and marked quite a few that I am to try. Thanks I think.

That ocean fill-in can be a pain.

  7. Love the pyn keeps. Filling in can be boring-so I like to skip around too. Everything always looks so fresh and delicious in your farmers market pictures. I didn't realize how tiny Smokie is. Hopefully Lolly will let him snuggle up.

  16. As always your pics are wonderful! I love the HOE...beautiful finishes. And I can't believe how tiny Smokie looks - and what cuties they are laying there together.

Making progress on your Shores - I have fill in on a couple things right now - can be tedious, but I like to do that kind of stitching while talking/stitching with friends or while watching a movie!

  20. I KNEW your post would be filled with pics...didn't I tell ya?

I agree with a previous comment about my farmers market being a few trucks tailgating. I was spoiled while growing up in PA and thought there was one of those awesome Farmer's Markets everywhere!

Nice to see the hounds getting along.

I like your idea about personalizing the one square in Shores. As you probably know I am married to a retired Navy Masterchief so I can't wait to see what you decide!

I love both the pin keeps! The one you did for Kathy is just so colourful and a really great fall stitch.
BTW, I made the pumpkin spice bar recipe as a cake this past weekend for our SAL and it was a raving hit!! Thanks!
