Hallowe'en Mail

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends thanks for stopping by again this morning.. afternoon... or evening - whatever it is wherever you are - welcome to my little Blog!!  I also wanted to welcome all the new and old Followers!!!
____________

Well, yesterday the mail brought me my 1/2 of the HOE Hallowe'en Exchange.  I have already sent mine and it was received.  My partner Rosa, also mailed early so I get to enjoy her wonderfully stitched piece the whole Season!!!   My package contained a really cute Pyn Keepe.......

... with a stitched "E" Witch and a kitty!  Rosa also included with the Pyn keepe some extra treats...

..... a great little Ort bag (with a bat in the bottom!), a super piece of Hallowe'en fabric, some DMC floss in seasonal colours and some herbal tea!  What a super Exchange!!  Thank you so much Rosa!!  You can click on over to her sweet Blog and also meet her darling chihuahua Bella!!
____________

In addition to my Exchange stitching I have been working on ATS, but not very much. For some reason I have not been very enthused about my own stitching lately....  but, I do stitch a little every evening...  I would guess it is just a lull in the old mojo, and hopefully won't last long.  I may show a snaperoo tomorrow, but who knows, I might not.  I'll see how I feel tonight about what I have completed.

Hallowe'en Exchange Arrives

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends we had a lovely cool weekend here in the City by the Bay.  Especially yesterday... the fog sort of rolled in over the city and through the Golden Gate to envelop us in grey loveliness!!!  Not too much going on and the few things we did get accomplished I will hold off writing about until tomorrows post.  Today I wanted to focus on a Hallowe'en Exchange that arrived.
______________

I took part in the HOE Hallowe'en Exchange and it arrived over the weekend to my Partner Kayona, from over at "My Sometime Cross Stitching Obsession."  Here's a snap of what I made and sent....

Since this was for Hallwoe'en I thought that finding some of the specialty treats for the season would be nice I also included some Holiday fabric and trim.  Here is a close up of the piece I stitched...

I stitched a Lizzie Kate chart called "Sampling Hallowe'en."  I used a piece of 32ct linen I hand dyed and the recommended floss'.  I took the stitched piece and made a great box finish.  Here's a snap of the piece and the inside of the box...

I painted the box using a pearlized purple paint that matched the letters, the inside is also painted and lined with a contrasting pumpkin fabric.  This was a fun piece to make, and Kayona has let me know that she enjoyed what I sent.

Some Stitching - an Exchange, a Present and a House

GR&DF it's Thursday, can we get a whoop - whoop!! Not that I am wishing away my life, but looking forward to the weekend. I do thank you all for the kind comments- and the chocolate covered strawberries are continuing to be totally delicious!! I did want to mention that I have opened up another Blog - specifically for baking and cooking and stuff like that - a place where I can post up the recipes and snaps to keep them together. The Blog is called Blacksheep Bakes and I have been tweaking and shifting stuff around for the last couple of days. If you would like you can click on over and give it a look. The first post is for the Pumpkin-Chocolate cake.

Nancy mentioned in the comments for yesterdays post the lamp in the roses snap - that was my Granny's Slag Glass lamp - she treasured it and when we broke up her home it was one of the things I really wanted to have - and so I see it everyday and think of her - such sweet memories.

____________

I heard from Michelle that the HOE Hallowe'en Exchange I made for her had arrive - and here are a couple of snaps of what I made and sent....

I stitched up a chart from CHS - I painted a box I got a a craft store and attached the piece to the top and lined the inside with some pumpkin fabric.... here is a snap of the entire exchange...

This was a totally fun exchange as I really love all Hallows Eve and Fall things!!

Yesterday I said I would put up some of my more recent stitching.... here is a piece that I am making for a present -

You really cannot tell but the linen is a lovely blue colour and not grey. I want to get it finished up soon and framed as there are only 79 more days until Christmas.

Here is another piece I have been working on....

It is my SoHRH - still a great stitch - but the white fill on this house is a killer - remember - I so do not like white stitching.

I am also working on "The Garden Path" - but I just couldn't get a good snap of that last night - It kept coming out blotchy and mouldy looking - I will try again tonight for a better snap.

There you go sports fans - another post at the "Olde Blacke Sheepe." Just me being funny - It reallye botherse me to see extra e's tacked onto the ende ofe thingse - kinda drives me crazye!! Have a good one and stoppe back when you canne!

Take care -

The Mail Brought - an Exchange, a couple of RAK's and we have a Birthday Winner

GR&DF thank you all for the warm Birthday Wishes!! It was a really nice day and this morning sitting here reading all the comments - was just wonderful!!!

The Mail brought my HOE Hllowe'en Exchange - and it is really cute...

My partner was Cindy - and she made this darling little Hallowe'en ornament - It is a Halloween Flip from Lizzie Kate. Included in the package where some sweet extras. Thank you so much Cindy!!

There where a couple of other packages that came also -

Carolyn sent me this wonderful side crank hand mixer - knowing how much I love kitchen gadgets, this will be a great addition!! It was wrapped up in the pumpkin fabric - wasn't that sweet!!

Robin rescued this lovely little piece of needlepoint and sent it on to me - I think it will make a really cute little pillow. What great RAK's to get on my Birthday!!! Thank you both!!

Last night we both felt like NOT going out so we ordered some delicious....

....Birthday Pizza!!.....

I love it when I don't have to hunt, gather, cook and then clean up!! and as my Mom always says - "Any dinner is delicious that you don't have to fix and wash up after!!" I brought the left overs for lunch - now how can you beat that!!!

After clipping and folding all the many paper entries we had the Hobbit Birthday Drawing...... as the Hag Hand fell on the entries and mixed them up - out of the BoD it plucked a name....

and that name is.....

Sharlotte - Congratulations!!!! I was blown away by all the sweet comments and kind words from all those that entered. I will be having another drawing next month so stay tuned!!

I think that about wraps it up for today sports fans!! Thank you all for stopping by and for the kind comments - they make my mornings brighter and my days warmer!!! Do stop by again!

A Snap of Hetty and a Hallowe'en Package

GR&DF thank you for the kind comments about my ongoing scrounging for a deal. I am not too sure about what the people running the sale knew or not about things as the pricing was all over the place. The kitchen things at this sale seemed to be on the very reasonable if not down right inexpensive side. As a buyer you have to know just a bit more than the seller to get a bargain or deal!! That yellow pot is now sitting on the range top so I can see it every time I go near our kitchen - and it warms my heart each time!! Now I need to make some sort of braised beefy thing with veggies this weekend......

I wanted to post a shot of where I am with Hetty - but as usual the snaps are less than great as yesterday when I was trying to take one it was getting dark and overcast - oh well here you go -

Now it looks blue instead of pink - but it really is whitish. You can see I have gotten the border finished - I love doing borders for some reason - and have started on the alphabets. I am really liking the two green colours I chose to use - the darker one is not Attic Tea as first reported but Tortoise Shell and the lighter shade is Herb Garden. It is coming along very nicely and I have already lined up the next sampler - there are way too many to choose from from the stash heap!!

Yesterday I received my HOE Hallowe'en Package - although it may have gotten here on Friday and just to my desk yesterday.... but never mind - it was a wonderful surprise from Marie.
Here is a snap -

In that package was a wonderfully stitched Treats Bag that Marie stitched using a freebie from The Primitive Needle - called "By the Light of the Moon." Also included is a tea towel that she designed and stitched up and a great wooden tong for the kitchen - and - a box of some super sour yummy candy!!! Thank you so much Marie once again your stitching is just beautiful. You may remember that Marie also stitched up this piece of gorgeous mailart for me back in February.

That's about it for today sports fans!!
Thank you for stopping by and do come again.

Take care,
