Gentle Friends, hitting the stores over the weekend and finding nothing, I thought it was going to be a bust and sometimes it is, but the last stop we found some fun stuff...
... a couple of DVD's, a modern icon and a piece of sterling that ...
... turned out to be a vintage collapsible traveling shaving brush from Asprey,
with its original boar bristle brush. I had looked at it a few weeks ago, but at the time wasn't sure what it was, after a little research on the Internet I was able to identify what, where and when exactly about the piece. It turned out to be a real bargain since after a month things go to half price and so not only is it a great piece of silver but I got a bargain - I do love a deal!! What's so great about English silver is that every piece is so well stamped - with silver content. maker, city and date marks - this piece happened to be date marked 1921.

My grandmother used to say "chicken one day, feathers the next". But score on the shaving brush!

Very nice! I would probably put the shaving brush to use.
