Gentle friends I thought I would show some snaps of our home base in Brittany, Perros-Guirec.
- Perros" comes from the Breton word "Penn" (cap, tip, end) and "roz" (hillside, hill down to the sea);
- "Guirec" (in French) or "Gireg"(in Breton) is the name of Saint Guirec, a monk from the Channel to evangelize the Bretons of the time
There are actually two towns, one down around the Port and harbour.... and the old town up above reachable by the corniches that criss-cross across the sides of the hills. Our House, Ker Juillette, over looked the beach of Trestrignel one of two lovely beaches in Perros-Guirec.......

.... I took this shot from the sea-wall, the beach is wide and lovely, and there were quite a few families a folks enjoying the sunny day......
... walking towards the rock outcrop and then over the rocks was not as easy as I thought.....
... after the tide goes out the rocks still hold lots of pools and things...... the entire area is know for the pink granite and is called the Cote de Granit Rose. We drove down to Ploumanac'h and stopped at the light house and to see the gorgeous rocks/boulders of pink granite......

In the upper Old Town of Perros-Guriec is the......
...pink granite medieval Church of Saint-Jacques - it was never open while I was there, so I didn't get a chance to go in and get any snaps.....across from the church is the Boulangerie (bakery) that we went to every morning, Ty Coz....
.... they open at 6 am and we were there by 6:30 picking up the daily bag of croissant, baguettes and on occasion some pain au chocolat........
.... my breakfast of champions while staying at Ker Juliette - there where only tiny tea cups in the house so I used a small bowl for my coffee, I like big cups of coffee with honey and cream.....
That about wraps up the Brittany part of my vacation...... now on to Paris. Thanks so much for sticking with me and my trip, I do hope you are enjoying it as much as I am!!
