A Little Stitchin' Finish

Gentle Friends, over the weekend I finished up "Apostles Creed."  Here's a snap...

Heartstring Samplery "Apostles Creed"
July 5 - August 3, 2018
40 ct Vintage Exampler
Mostly the Called for Overdyed Floss

I really enjoyed this stitch and as you may remember I clipped the bands and rearrange them to fit.  I also went back and backstitched the angles wings with a little shiny golden floss and like the way it worked, thanks for the suggestion.

My next stitch is sort of ready to go.  I had decided on my next project then changed my mind.  I didn't have all the silk I needed so I had to order a few skeins...  now I'm waiting for them to arrive.  While I'm waiting to start a new stitch I hauled out a WIP and worked on that ... I'll post a snap of that later on.

I was wondering if anyone else is having an issue with Blog Comments.  It seems that my replies are either bouncing back and just not moving forward or I'm unable to even answer them....  is something going on that I'm not aware of???  Any suggestions as to a fix??

A Little More Stitchin'

Gentle Friends, still stitching away and here's a snaperoo...

...I made a change in the Tree/Angel band with the Angel.  I changed up the gown from another shade of green to the blue color, it's GAST "Cornflower" I tried a couple of light blues and really like the way this one looks.  In stitching this piece I figured there was so much green already that another green was unnecessary.  I'm thinking about frogging out the wings as they are really light and melt into the color of the linen....  but I'm going to think about that one.

A Little Stitchin'

Gentle Friends, still stitching away on AC.... here's a snaperoo..

.... and if you look this piece up online you can see the first change I made... it's the band break, in the original pattern the band is of crowns and I switched it out with the modified rose band from the bottom of the sampler... I've also modified some of the letters as I stitch along making them a little more "sampler" like IMHO....  as with all of Beth's pieces this is a real joy to stitch and will end far too soon!!

A Little Stitchin'

Gentle Freinds, stitching away on Apostles Creed... here's a pretty craptastic snap of where I am at the moment...

... a pretty significant floss change I've made is with the letters.  They are supposed to be stitched in GAST "Harvest Basket."  I stitched the first line with the Harvest Basket from my stash and it just was too pale and I didn't care for how it looked so I frogged it all out and went back to my stash and pulled some different colors... I've settled on another GAST color "Dried Thyme."

A New Little Start

Gentle friends, well, I've finally landed on a piece to start... I hemmed and hawed about a couple of samplers...  trying to make a decision I started to kit them up and sort of saw where I was with my stash and what I was missing... so I moved towards a great piece that's been in the "to do" pile for quite a while...

.... it's another Heartstring Samplery piece... "Apostle's Creed."  Here's my little bit of a start...

... I'm stitching this piece on 40ct Vintage Light Examplar with the recommended floss (more or less).  Of course, I've already made some changes to the piece.  In my stash, I couldn't find a piece of linen long enough... almost long enough...but no cigar!!  So, since this is a band type sampler I just went in and clipped out a couple of "bands" and then took the other bands and just rearranged them to suit me... so now I'm a happy camper.  The picture makes the linen look really mottled, I think it was the flash that made the colors pop... it's not really this "cloudy " looking.
