Gentle Friends as with most new fangled inventions, I fight most of them tooth and nail until finally giving in... I am still fighting the "Book battle" and just refuse to accept a Kindle or any other plastic book.... I just refuse to give up my tangible, touchable, turn pageable books.
With that said, I finished up a really terrific paperback book at lunch today and thought I should pass it on. Called "Jewels: A Secret History" by Victoria Finlay, it covers in great detail 9 precious gems from the softest Amber to the hardest Diamond. Here's what the cover looks like......
So, if you would like to read this super "book" - let me know, I'll have a little drawaing over the weekend, leave a comment on this post of your interest and I will annouce the new owner on Monday.
Take care,
edgar
I sit and read this on my kindle. I have made the switch...kinda...Have not totally abandoned paper books. I would love a chance to win you book. The kindle has advantages ... built in dictionary, easy web access I can read (phone too small), much less cumbersome when traveling or on the go. That being said, I am frugal and want to pass on my books!
ReplyDeleteI love my kindle but I do enjoy turning a real page now and then. I would love to read this book and would pass it along when finished. Please put my name in the BOD. :O)

ReplyDeleteNothing beats the smell and feel of a real paper book. I run a book group at the local community centre and only 1 member has a kindle and she doesnt like it, it was bought as a gift.
ReplyDeletePlease throw me in your BOD for the book draw Edgar. I have succumbed to a Kindle but still love to read a 'real' book!
