A Little Finish and a Little Start.....

40ct PTP "Heartland" - Charted Floss

... you can see the fill between the houses is a garden of sorts.  I toggled back and forth between this idea or a bit from "Thank you, Sarah Tobias", from the needlebook bottom.  This bit I stitched is a recharting from "Their Song" Loose Feathers #24.  I only ever considered using a BBD design since I wanted to keep this totally inspired by or from BBD.  This is not "strict" stitching from "Their Song" more of inspired by, as most of the motifs are jangled about a bit and all are a recharting using the color palette from "Little Birds"  I'm really pleased with how it turned out.  I also got the date and my initials in there.  This will go into the stitched finished box as its a whopping 19 1/2 x 17 big and I've really not got that big of a space left on any wall to hang her up if I was to get her framed, but no matter I really enjoyed stitching this piece as I always do when I stitch a BBD design!!

I was thinking about what to start next a while back and then I saw a piece started by a dear friend of mine, Vonna of Twisted Sticher, of a piece she is stitching for Lent called Peaceful Paradise from Midsummer Night Designs... and I knew I wanted to stitch this also.  It's been lurking about in my stash since it was released back in 2007 and now is a good time as ever to make a go at stitchin' it up... 

here's the start...

I'm stitching this on LL 40ct Pearled barley, it's far whiter than it looks in the snap, the picture makes it look pink and it really is not.  I'm also using the called for overdyed flosses.  I had the majority of them in the stash.  I've had to switch out some of the blacks but I'm OK with it and it'll look fine when it's done.

A little Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends, here's a snap of Little Birds...

... sorry about the odd lighting, I tried to compensate for the sunlight with my Ott Lite, and this is the result...  I've stitched the bulk of the second house, that was the goal for the weekend - and -  I'm still waffling a bit about the center, but think I've landed on what I'll stitch... hope it works, it's such an odd shape... I realize now why there was the large sort of odd medalion!!

A little Bit of Spring

... just a quick BTW... Christmas is only 280 days away... Thanksgiving is only 250 days away and  Hallowe'en is 225 days away... the year is zooming by very quickly!!

A Little Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends,  I finished up the third part of "Fruits" and here's a snaperoo...

... it's just bee-bopping along now.... after wrapping up this part I picked up Little Birds... and here's a snaperoo of what's gotten done to date... 

... one more big motif and a few smaller ones then it's the house ...and once I get the house finished up I'll make the decision about the replacement bit for the middle.  I've narrowed it down to three pieces I think might work but haven't absolutely decided and probably will not until the time I have to start stitching.  I've also landed on my next project.  Since I'm trying to stitch from stash a bit more this year I've pulled the bulk of the floss and the chart, and I'll pick out a piece of linen from the linen pile.  It's a great oldie and one I've wanted to stitch for quite a while....but you'll just have to wait and see until after this one is a "done deal"  - and -  I've made at least a little start.

A Little Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends,  I stitched on Fruits this last week and got the dark blue done...

.. it's a bit wonky due to still being in the q-snaps, but you get the idea.  Now it's on to the lite blue.

 I'm really liking this SAL !

A Little House Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends, so I finished up the left-hand side house on Little Birds... here's a snaperoo...

...it's an odd little house, I stitched it as charted with the charted floss... so there you go.  I received and printed Part 3 for the Fruits of Plenty piece so I'll be jumping in on that tonight .... expect a snap of that next week.  I had a couple of questions or I should say the same question a couple of times about the linen I'm using... it's called "Heartland" from PTP it's 40ct and it is just lovely.  It is the called for linen and I bought it the same time I acquired the chart.
