Two Bits of Stitchin'

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends I was so happy to read all the lovely comments about yesterdays post.  I often worry about repeating myself - and the photos I post.  My life or I should say our lives here in San Francisco are so regular and even.  We do the same things and go to the same places all the time.  We eat out at the same places shop in the same stores over and over.....  Not that I'm complaining - I am just pointing out how boring I think it would look to someone not in my shoes.  Last evening we where watching the Cooking Channel and Emeril Lagasse was hosting a show that travels around to different cities and he was visiting SF.  A couple of the places he visited I have been to and a couple where places I want to go - this city is so big we need to start getting to a new place at least once a month - I have made the decision!!  First up is we need to get over to that cafe on Nob Hill and try some of that Irish coffee he was talking about!!!!!
I'll have a camera!
__________

The first stitchin' bit is as snap of my very own sampler.....

... or at least the linen - 36ct BoF "Sandpiper" - and most of the floss colours I am using.   I started in on the border and may just have to change one of the floss colours now that I see it stitched up.
__________

The second bit is a new chart that came out at the recent show in Baltimore.  Now, I told myself that I certainly need never buy a chart ever again (who am I kidding!!) and most of the new things coming out I can resist - except - this piece.  It is called Quaker Christmas II - Songs of the Season.  Here is a picture...

This has two things in it's favour...  it is Quakery and it is musical - I especially love Christmas music!!  Now I know the problems with ByGone Stitches charts little issues here and there, but I loved the first Quaker Christmas!!!  and I know I will love this one!!

There you go sports fans - thanks for stopping by, do come again!!

Take care,
edgar

  2. I don't think you ever repeat yourself with the pics you take. I'm looking forward to seeing more, like that cafe on Nob Hill. :D (Oh, and I grabbed some cans of pumpkin today at the grocery -- thanks again for the tip!) Love the colors for your challenge sampler. So pretty! And the Quaker Christmas II -- it's funny how it didn't even register in my brain that it was Christmas song-related! What fun! I may have to get this one after all.

  3. I think most of do the same thing and go to the same places. Saw a show on breakfast treats and Baker & Banker in SF looked delicious.
Looking forward to seeing the Quaker Chritmas progress.

I like the new quaker design that came out too. I'm trying to limit what I purchase though because I certainly don't need anything more in this lifetime:))) LOL!

  10. Hmm, you may do the same things all the time in San Francisco, but I don't live there, so it's interesting to me! =)

LOVE the colors of your sampler. And I LOVE the Quaker Christmas II...I hadn't seen it but it's on my list now. Being in choirs all my life...Christmas music has a very special place in my life! My friends always look to me for the lyrics of "the second verse"!

  11. Edgar,
You inspire me to appreciate my own home town. You act almost like a tour guide in San Francisco when you are showing us around and it's much appreciated.

Once I watched an episode of one of those "true crime" shows. The crime was set in my hometown, Portland, Maine. They made Portland look so beautiful, I said, "I wish I lived there!!" Of course, I DO! Sometimes I can't see the forest for the trees. And you help me to see the trees.
