Our Hearts are Broken.....

Gentle Friends, as you may remember our Miss Peaches was getting on and has been living with congestive heart failure for the past 4 years, 3 different pills twice a day and all that.  But, she's been a trooper and running with the pack of Who Hounds... even as her hearing and eyesight worsen nothing seemed to slow the old girl down.  Up to the last couple of days.  We could see she was really fading quickly and then last night she passed from this existence at 4:05.  She went to join Hunny and Pete over the Rainbow bridge....

A Little More Stitchin' and a Christmas Card

Gentle Friends, so I'm still working on BBD Seasons and here's a snap...

On Saturday I was surprised to find in the mail a card from my brother and sister-in-law.  I wasn't sure what it could have been for it's not my birthday nor is it Christmas (it's just 120 days away)...I opened it up and it was a Christmas card.  So I looked at the cancelled stamp...

... check out the date on that sucker... it only took a mere 3 years to get from South Carolina to Califonia...I guess it came via slow boat around the Cape of Good Hope then across the Pacific ocean... you know, the short route! So a very Happy Christmas just a bit early.  I texted my brother and we had a little laugh!

A Little Stitchin' Start

Gentle Friends, so, I got it together to make a new start and pulled together a 3 part Blackbird Designs mystery sampler from 2011 - they are the Loose Feathers "Summer Autumn Winter."  I pulled a piece of 40 count vintage Pecan Butter, and some of the overdyed flosses and hers my start......

... it's not much but it's a start.  I have tons of the BBD charts and love stitching them!!

We also made a run out to a wholesale fabric warehouse here in the City to choose some upholstery fabric.  We have needed to have a couple of pieces of furniture reupholstered for years and have finally made the jump to "get er' done"!!  I replaced our sofa a couple of weeks ago - that sucker has needed replacing for a long time, and now it's on to the other pieces in the living room!!  

I'll tackle the dining room chairs once I get the newly upholstered pieces back....  the dining room chairs are slip seats so I can do that myself.  We'll also be painting - hopefully - while the furniture is out getting done.  Just trying to get the house in shape for the Holidays..... which are fast approaching!!

A Little Brunchin'

Gentle Friends, sorry to have not posted yesterday but I left my camera at home so there would have been no snaperoos.... and who wants a post without a picture??  

So, I've not touched a needle or stitched a stitch in over a week... I am just not motivated in the least... what's up with that... so Instead of beating myself up for not stitching, I think I'll just start something new.  I dug around last night in the old stash pile and think I've landed on a fun piece ... I'll see just how much I have or can pull together and get a'move on with that!!

Over the weekend we headed down to China Basin on the far south side of the Emabrcadero for brunch with friends at a new to us place called "Mission Rock Resort"...

... it's right on the water and has great views out over the Bay towards Oakland and Alameda...
