Gentle Readers and Dear Friends today post is post 1000 for me - and I could not be more surprised. When I started this blog I would have never thought I could post 1000 times about anything. I am just so happy that you care to read what I write - I do thank you for your perseverance, kind comments and nice emails!! I am thinking I want to do something - as it is a milestone for me...... I need to think about it for a few days.
__________
Over the weekend not very much happened - we stopped by a few Thrift/Consignment shops, but found nothing. We got back over to Japan town, there is an aquarium store Rico wanted to visit called - Aqua Forest Aquarium - click HERE to visit the website. We also stopped back into the main JT malls - I went to my favorite little incense shop, and picked up a few things. I also took this snap...
A scale model of the great Osaka Castle -
___________
Sunday after Mass we picked up a quick breakfast and headed to a new (to us at least) Farmers Market. It is located behind the Stonestown Mall. I had seen the signs for this market for years, but the ratty signage made me not so enthusiastic about visitng. How very wrong I had been - it is just gorgeous and well laid out - I had my camera and took these snaperoos......
beautiful okra....
some great carrots and tomato's....
all different kinds of eggs.....
some beautiful summer fruit......
some crunchy pretzels.....
and on the way out we picked up some of these lovely dahlias and tube roses.... a really lovely market - not too crowded - lots of parking - I would highly recommend a quick visit if you where ever in the area.
__________
I did some stitching on 12 Blessings.......
I am finding that with this very light coloured linen I am changing up the colours as I go along and choosing others from my stash - I even had to back stitch the white dove to make it even appear. I guess that's how it is sometimes.
There you go sports fans, there was some more stuff, but I will save it for tomorrow.
Do stop back by again. Until next time.......
........ take care,
edgar
Congrats!!!! That's what I would call a mile stone.
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching on the 12 blessings.

ReplyDelete12 Blessings is looking good and kudos to you for changing out the colors. I am one of those stitchers that has to do what the designer says because I'm too unsure how to change it up to make it look better or different. I applaud anyone who can make changes:))))
Congrats on an awesome milestone. I look forward to celebrating your 2000th post.

ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a lovely weekend!
Surely 1000 posts is a significant milestone ... made all the more significant by the fact that you have a rare gift for finding delight in the day to day routines of normal life. If you could somehow bottle that ability and share it with the world, this planet would be a happier place. Keep on posting, I hope to still be reading when you hit the 10,000 milestone.

Congratulations on the 1000th post - but that doesn't sound to surprising as you do a wonderful job of informing all of us of the wonderful sights of the city, your beautiful stitching and great movies to watch. Lots of wonderful things to share.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all found another great farmer's market. We just got one here in Dublin on Thursdays and we are enjoying it - not only because of the wonderful fruits/veggies and other foods there, but it is becoming a place for the neighbors to congregate in during the week.
Take care...and here is to your next 9,000 postings :)

ReplyDeleteLove your pics from the farmers market. It looks lovely (and made me hungry, lol). Also like the scale model. It's very pretty! Your LK is coming along well too. Yes Dear and I are embodying peace tonight. I got up at midnight to a phone call, and talked for a while, but after I got off the phone, it's been so quiet and peaceful. No traffic, no yelling, no neighbors clumping around upstairs... Just nice! Hope you're having a peaceful night too!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, the carrots and tomatoes look so juicy and.. yumm..
ReplyDelete12 blessings looks beautiful. The dove does look great with the back stitch. Firstly I'd never make any changes!! And IF I did, it'd take me ages to decide what colour to use. Really awed at how quickly you can change and also with such great effect.
And 1000 posts!! Congrats. I've just hit a century, hehe
