A Bit of San Francisco - Circa 1972

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends not much of anything going on and no real plans for the long weekend.  We have been grilling out and swimming in the evenings after work the last couple of days.  It's so relaxing watching the fog roll in while the grill chars up some dinner - last night we had simple hamburgers and the night before we had a delicious tri-tip roast.  I see another three days of grilling coming up.
__________

I wanted to mention a really fun film for the weekend - "What's Up Doc" - 1972 - starring Barbra Streisand, Ryan O'Neal and Madeline Kahn (in her first real starring role).  Directed by Peter Bogdanovich.  This is a screwball comedy set in SF and filmed on location here in the city - so that you see all different parts.  from Nob Hill, Pacific Heights, the Richmond District, Downtown, China Town and in Little Italy -  even the airport  (which is actually in South SF).  Here is a great clip of scenes from the film - it is about 8 mins, but lots of fun to watch....

If you get the chance you should check it out.
__________

Have a wonderful three day break!!  I'll be back on next Tuesday.

Take care,
edgar
