Ready for the Fall and Hallowe'en!!!!!

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends thank you all for you kind words about yesterdays post and snap.
____________

Yesterday the FedEx guy dropped off a package I thought wasn't due to arrive until Friday - so lets give a cheer for early deliveries!!!!!!!  As you may remember I do love having candles, incense and things of that nature burning all the time.  I especially like Yankee Candles and when I saw the new candles for Fall I was beside myself with glee!!!  They made a totally black candle that has the aroma of black licorice for All Hallows Eve!!!!  I do not remember this from last year so it may be new - I knew the minute I saw it that one of these suckers was going to be in my home!!  They also made a topper that has black cats on it like the front of the candle....  of course I needed one of those...  and when I did my order on line this topper was on sale!!  Here's my new candle...

I couldn't just let it sit there with no other Fall/Hallowe'en things... so I hauled it upstairs and picked over my stitching goodies and came away with a basket of treats!

Here is my side table decorated with some fun things.....

The only comment I got from the peanut gallery was "you do realize it is still August?????"  I just went about my business!  I'm ready, bring on the Fall Fun!!!

That's about it for today sports fans, thanks again for stopping by, do stop again!

Take care,
edgar

  4. I am anxious for fall this year too, and our weather hasn't really even been that bad! lol I haven't gotten my fall decor out yet but I did buy some Brach's Autumn Mix the other day at Walgreen's- I usually don't buy any until it's a little closer to fall. ;)

  5. I have "fall fever" so bad this year. I keep telling my husband I'm ready to decorate for Fall and he just rolls his eyes. I don't have long to wait though, I normally put out my fall decor Labor Day weekend.

  6. That Prairie Schooler Owl ornament is one of my favorites. I have two of them: one I stitched myself over two and one an exchange partner stitched over one. If I remember correctly, it was one of the ornaments in the first JCS Halloween issue. I think I'll wait a bit before pulling all my Halloween decorations out, though. I have some great Partylite candles and candle holders that I know you would love: bats and black cats and pumpkins and one spiderweb candelabra that holds three votive candles. Your black cat is gorgeous and the thought of a black licorice scented candle is most intriguing ... I wonder if it comes in pillar candles as well as jar candles. I'll have to check the web. You always find the most wonderful things, whether you are shopping on the web or browsing through thrift shops and estate sales.

  14. Love it Edgar. I'm with you and ready for fall too. Went to Hobby Lobby yesterday and not only was the Halloween decor out but Christmas was very well represented with over 11 aisles of trees, tinsel and everything one would need. I'm a bit confused by it all. lol lol
Is it too early for me to test run my costume? Personally I don't think it's ever too early for LIZA Excuse me while I practice a few songs. lol lol

  24. The only reason I would join the peanut gallery is if you were putting up Christmas decorations. And, it is almost September so, I think you're good on Halloween decorations.

  36. Yes, it's "only" August, but Hobby Lobby has had their Christmas decorations up for sale since June, so I think you're allowed to get ready for Halloween in August!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Edgar, I totally agree. I have been stitching Halloween things sine July 4th. I put out my Halloween stuff in September because I want to enjoy it

  38. Love, love all of the stitching and your blogg. I too would love to know what the chart is for the owl and witch that is in the far right of photo. Also if you have a Home Goods they have their halloween up and they have a Yankee candle called Witche's Brew. The best, it too is black and brings back memories of the 60's.

  39. I love the fall and autumn scents too!! The Yankee Candle "Apple Pumpkin" is AMAZING, you should try it!!

You might want to trim your wick so the flame doesn't go past the topper; the wicks are only supposed to be about 1/4" to 1/2" long to prevent that from happening - you don't want your topper to get burnt!

Also, have you tried Scentsy? I literally just joined 2 days ago - they're wickless candles, or wax burners. They use a 25Watt bulb (it doesn't get very hot!) to warm scented wax that when melted, is cool enough that you can dip your fingers in it! So no soot, no flame, now burns! They're very cool, and the new fall/winter warmers will come out on September 1. Right now most everything on the site is 10% off!! https://rubyrider.scentsy.us/Scentsy/Home

  40. Your display is totally awesome! I need to get one of those candles for my daughter, she was born on Halloween. I wonder if I could finish a basket full of loveliness like that by Halloween?

  41. Your basket looks gorgeous, and I love that Candle set! I did see it online and coveted it in passing, so what fun to see it here on your blog!

I am not the licorice fan that you are, but that anisette soap has made me a minor follower! It is my go-to soap for face, and I think it smells great, too. :D
