Exchange received, RR round up and a couple of flicks

I got a lovely exchange from Nela - it arrived on Friday as I was leaving work and I opened up this great package when I got home. It was the Needle Roll exchange from over at HOE - included in the package were some beautiful ribbons for finishing, a sweet little vase and chocolate bar and a beautiful Needle Roll!!
Here is a snap of the entire exchange -

and here is a close up of the delicate 1/1 needle roll -

It is really pretty with two pins already poked into the top. Thank you so much for this really wonderful exchange - it is a great addition to my growing collection!!!

We seemed to run around all weekend so the only thing I seem to be able to get to was Cheryl's RR - and I got that finished and here is a snap of the whole piece -

I laid the piece across the back of the couch to use the daylight so it looks kind of wonky - but you get the idea - here is a snap of the upper right corner I worked -

I am really happy with the way it turned out - Now, I read that Donna has gotten her piece back and will be sending it on so that I can get at that last square. I can't wait!!!

There you go on the stitching front - I also worked a tiny bit on VoHRH -
but no snaps of that piece.

There were some movies also - a couple in particular I would like to mention - the first being - "Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day" - 2008 - what a super movie!!! Set on the eve of WWII in London - I would say run don't walk to rent a copy of this film - Frances McDormand is just great as Miss Pettigrew and Amy Adams does a super job as Delysia Lafosse - in supporting roles are Shirley Henderson (suburb as always!!) and Ciaran Hinds as Joe.
Absolutly try and see this film.....you will not be disappointed!! The second film I would like to mention is a real favorite of mine - "Trip to Bountiful" - 1985 - with who was probably one of the greatest actress' of the 20th century - Geraldine Page who has the lead as Carrie Watts. She is supported expertly by John Heard, Carlin Glynn and Rebecca de Mornay.
This is one of a handful of films that I could watch over and over - Miss Page won her only Best Actress Academy Award for this role.

That was the weekend in a nutshell!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Take care,
edgar
