As my Birthday draws near I am wanting to do something special.... remember a while back - a week or so - I wrote about a Fall Drawing - well here it is!! I am doing a Hobbit Styled Birthday Gift-a-way - not in the true Hobbit since - I just can't stitch that much stuff - but I am going to put together a gift for some lucky winner out there in Blogland. How it works in the LOTR books is on a Hobbits birthday at the party all the guests get gifts - How this Gift-a-way will work is that if you would like to receive a gift from me for my birthday just leave a comment with this entry and on my birthday - next Saturday - October 4th - I will draw a name to win the Gift-a-way - how easy is that!! I am turning 45 (I just can't believe that either) - the drawing will close on next Friday, October 3, 2008 at 3pm - PST so just comment here before then. I will announce the winner on Monday - October 6th and will have the Birthday Present in the mail on the 7th - I am unusually organized lately - and it really scares me!! :)
Now on to the arriving exchanges - I know recently I have been madly working away at exchanges with no snaps here - now - I can post them ...
Lets start off with Lillie over at Lil' Needlecrafter in Malaysia - she was my partner in the HOE Prairie Schooler Exchange and I stitched her a PynKeepe - here is a snap of the exchange -
The design is from the PS Weather Wise chart - using the recommended DMC floss.
The next exchange to arrive was to Carol over at Garden of Stitches - it was for the Fall House Exchange with the SBEBB - I have stitched for Carol a few times this year and she is so easy to stitch for as both of us like the same things - stitch wise!! I stiched up a decorative Roll and here is a snap of the exchange -
The design is from PS chart Autumn Leaves and I knew it was perfect with the kitty on it!!
Also to arrive was the ornament for Vonna over at Twisted Stitcher for the Ornament Exchange. Here is a snap of the piece -
The pattern is from the PS chart Santa Rides - and I just love it and so does Vonna - it was a toss up between the Santa on the Deer and the Santa on the horse....
he finished up very nice - now I am making one for our tree!!
There you go .... some of the exchanges I sent out recently - all from Prairie Schooler -
I just love those charts!!!!
Last night was VoHRH and here is a progress snap -
Almost there with this square - then it is on to the Mill.
I just can not leave off this week without a comment about Grey's Anatomy... the first show of the season was last night with a 2 hour special.... pretty good overall - but is it going to be another year of waffling back and forth between those two and a ton a whining!!! I do not think I can take it for the whole season..... but we will give it a chance.
Thank you all for stopping by and for all the great comments!!!!
I do appreciate them!!
Have a great weekend - Take care,
edgar

ReplyDeleteWell, I thought I just must enter this since we share the birthday! :)
ReplyDeleteToo fun! I had not heard about anyone having a hobbit birthday. May do that for my kids b-days (maybe keep the toys down that way!)
ReplyDeleteHappy early Birthday!

ReplyDeleteI just started to read "cross-stitch" blogs in June this year and I try to read yours each weekday (from work)...you make beautiful, beautiful pieces (all to my taste). I would love to be entered in your birthday draw. I have been cross-stitching for many years and just really found out about the on-line cross-stitch community when I discovered Vikki Clayton fibers. thanks for entering me! Carol
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to GIVE presents on your birthday instead of getting them ;) Please count me in for the drawing...
ReplyDeleteYou're exchanges are gorgeous as always!
An Hobbit drawing with all your stash?? Is to die for, Mr. Bilbo!! Please, sign me in! (you can see my latest work in my blog). I'm looking forward to see the new Grey's Anatomy, we're still watching the rest of the previous serie... Hugs for you from Portugal

ReplyDeleteNatasha
What a fabulous and generous thing to do. I love the idea. And your Birth date is a the day before my Mom's. October babies are such lovely people. LOL (No mine is June 1)
ReplyDeleteSo HAPPY BIRTHDAY! and I'd love to be included in the drawing.
Your exchanges are all gorgeous, as always ... and yes, there is definitely a PS theme in there! I have to admit the more I see of PS the more I adore them - and my Mum who just started stitching at the tender age of 70 has fallen for them hook link and sinker! I would love to entered in your prize draw, please, if that's OK :)
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to do a birthday give away. Please include me in your drawing. All your work is lovely. It is great to get to see so many things actually stitched. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'd be honoured if you'd enter me in your birthday drawing. Heck, 45 is not old, I've been told that's when things start to get good! (I'm only 42, so don't know if that's true yet or not!) I just love LOTR! Wished they had started with the Hobbit!
ReplyDeleteDonna
Edgar, fabulous exchanges! All the recipients were surely thrilled! You are so generous.
ReplyDeleteAnd, an early Happy Birthday!!
great exchanges. I love Grey's Anatomy but am getting sick of some of the whining and Dr. McDreamy and Dr. Grey. Enough already. Either they want to make it work and be together or move on.
ReplyDeleteHi Edgar, I'm going to have to try my luck again and this time I might be lucky enough to win a lovely Edgar original. Pls enter me in your birthday draw. Cheers Lisa V.
ReplyDeleteEdgar, it's not scary that you're getting so organized, it's just that you are getting older, wiser, and more prolific in your stitching than ever. Hobbits are wonderful and I wish you a wonderful Hobbit Birthday with lots of food and drink. What a wonderful idea for a lucky someone to get a gift from you too.
ReplyDeleteYour exchange pieces are so great. Another October baby, yea.
ReplyDeletePlease enter me in your birthday give a way.
How very Edgar of you!!! Giving gifts to others on your birthday. I would be honored if you would include my name in your draw.
ReplyDeleteSince I myself am done with gift-stitching and deadline stitching of any kind forgood I feel bad about leaving a comment here to say I would love to be entered into the drawing, but I'm going to anyway, because all of your stitching is just too good to resist. I love the exchange stitching you've been doing. Man, your needles are flying!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful birthday!
ReplyDeleteDear Edgar, my new stitching friend, Happy early Birthday. 45 is a good age...old enough to know what you like, who you think you are, and what you think you'll do in your future. It's a time for energy and new creative ideas. You embody all of that and more from what I see. So, I hope you have the best of celebrations on your special day! Oh, my, Edgar...you are a speedy needler..so prolific and with an eye for the beautiful pieces to charm others. I love your choices. Please add me in your draw...I would love to see if the muses will select me on your day! Hugs, Deb
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely idea, you have some wonderful finishes. Well all are wonderful finishes. Can I join too.

Love all the exchange pieces because they are my favorite designer, Prairie Schooler. I think the "Santa Rides" one is my favorite. There is something about the reindeer by PS that are so charming.
ReplyDeleteWow Edgar, Happy Birthday. My birthday is October too and I can remember a time when I was 45!! Somebody told me the wise saying "those that find it good to be young will find it good to be old" so enjoy your youth and consider it an investment for your old age :-)
