Sweet Treat Friday

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends I just loved all the comments from the previous days postings and do appreciate all the time and trouble you take!!  Thank You!!
__________

Not too much going on since yesterday - on the way home after paying out the wazoo for a tank of gas - we stopped off to get haircuts but our hair cut lady was out sick.  Getting my 4 hairs cut is very easy and a quick snip , snip -  I could probably get a Flowbee to do it with, but I do like the way she cuts them so I keep going back. Since she wasn't there we stopped off at the Walgreen's next door to pick up some stuff and made the mistake of walking down the aisle of delicious seasonal Easter candy.  Big Mistake.  Looking about I found a new something for the Easter Baskets this year....

I like dark chocolate. I like Peeps.  So I thought whats not to like about this blue wrapped deliciousness????  - and at 2 for a $1 - I could take two chances on liking them.  When you open the little package out pops ....

.....this little peep - and  inside the chocolate shell is a yellow peep -  so what you end up with is a sticky, chewy choco covered treat.  If you don't like Peeps or marshmallows I would avoid it, but if that's your cup o tea give them a try.
_________

We also stopped off at the Safeway (grocery store) and wandered around looking for something to fix for dinner.....  lumbering up the frozen aisles we picked up some frozen chimichungas.  We also picked up a dessert...  Drumsticks.  Click HERE if your not too sure about what a Drumstick is.  They are a favorite of Rico's and the who hounds......

After Rico nibbled off the chocolate shell they hounds always get a lick or two at the creamy vanilla center.  Yes, the hounds are spoiled, there is no denying that!!  Pete is so timid that he is off to the side while the girls get their licks in first.
__________

Another crazy evening at the who-house - Thanks for stopping by - do come again!!
Have a super weekend!

Take care,
edgar

  1. Linzie like a different kind of treat. Overnight she chewed up one of my wooden hoops. Don't think she swallowed much. Just left a mess!

  2. I somehow resisted that walgreens aisle last week, but it wasn't easy! They have flavors and products that other places don't seem to get on that seasonal candy, right?

    Hounds=beyond spoiled, lol!

  3. Love the picture of your sweeties, and it's fun to see our Woody isn't the only pooch who get "people" treats! And that brings back a memory - some years ago we were sitting in the car having frozen yogurt, and my husband was sharing with our poodle named Spunky when he suddenly realized they were using the same spoon. No problem, right?!

  7. Totally OT, as this refers to a previous post. Needlework Shops in Central Florida. I lived there about 12 years ago and found Needle Orts in Alta Monte Springs, a suburb of Orlando where we lived. It's on Route 436 which is the major drag through the town. I worked at the huge Joanne Fabrics right up the road. www.needleorts.com

  10. Such cute little poochies! I also love drumsticks; there's just something about the sugar cone that gets all inundated with melted ice cream. Yum. A piece of summer right there!

  11. Dark chocolate and marshmallows!!! What's not to like? I'll have to hunt some down.

My two puppies are spoiled by their daddy (ok, and me) and love ice cream too. We even buy them their own. It's called Frosty Paws. The each get 1/4 of a cup.

  12. Yeah, I know how you feel about your peeps! I feel the same way about my reese's peanut butter eggs and Russell Stover's Coconut Cream Eggs, LOL!!!

  13. Hi there, yes gas prices are terrible. In Ontario, Canada we are on the metric system we measure in litres not gallons. I hate the system but we are stuck with it. We are paying 1.24 a litre.
    1 U.S. gallon = 3.78541178 litres or roughly 4 litres 4.96 a gallon???
I have never had a chocolate peep. It does look yummy!
    Have a great week end!

  14. As much fun as it looks, chocolate can be very dangerous for your pups. My Pixie got hold of m&m's and the vet told me it could act as poison to her. Maybe just that bit between the three isn't enough, but please be careful. I know you love and spoil them as I do mine, and don't want to give them something that could make them sick. Hugs!

  15. Very cute! Indy (my german shepherd) will eat anything you put in front of her. She ate some of my Marble Slab icecream (sweet cream blended with raspberries) this afternoon.
