The Stars Where out Last night

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends you are too kind - your comments are super and make this morning much brighter and bit warmer.  Today is another cold one and we are to be getting a bunch of rain as the day wears on - or like it happens sometimes the rain may just pass on by and make the south peninsula wet - you never can tell with weather patterns!!
__________

As you know I enjoy watching old movies, be they DVD's or TCM,  I also like to watch travel on PBS, Miss Ina on Food TV and the History channel - BUT - Last night I broke down and tuned into the first show of Season 12 on Dancing with the Stars - a show I have avoided for many a Season.  I tuned in for one reason and one reason only......  and that was to watch my girl Miss Wendy Williams.  Although she was a bit stiff you have to give her credit for all the hard work she has put in and getting out there on the stage and dancing!!  I was pleasantly surprised at how very entertaining the 2 hours actually turned out to be.  There was a couple of break out performances - Kirstie Alley and Ralph Macchio and then there were the less than stellar performances - but we will call that "first night nerves."  If you click HERE you can read the run down of contestants.  I did have a question though - if this show premiered in the summer of 2005 - how can this be the "12th Season?"  Just asking.  :)  It should really be called "Spring 2011 - Dancing with the Stars."  Can't wait for next Monday nights performances and then somebody gets the boot on Tuesday evening.  Boy, I've really gotten sucked in haven't I!!!

There you go sports fans - thanks for stopping by, do come again!!

Take care,

  1. 12 seasons--it must be that they produce 2 seasons a year. I agree with you that it's nicer if the "volume" of the show would be given in yearbook format like that.

I can honestly say I've never seen this show, lol--but then our TV is "display only"--we don't have cable and use it for movies and games. How can this be? Well, I'll tell you we have a lot of games. A lot. lol!

  2. I watched DTWS last night too - it's one of my (many) guilty pleasures! I thought Kirsty was great - she rocked the house! She's 60 and fabulous!

  3. Reality TV is very addictive, LOL! With that said, I can understand you being somewhat anxious for next week to come. I get that way every summer with "Big Brother". It is the only reality show that I watch in it's entirety! I have seen DWTS on occasion, but I was really bored and couldn't find anything better on the boob tube. I may catch an episode or two later in this "season" depending on who's still dancing. Have fun!!

  4. I tuned in a bit late and missed Wendy! So bummed. But Ralph and Kirstie were awesome. I think it will be a pretty good season.

  5. TV can be addictive, that's why I try to avoid watching anything that will make me 'have' to tune into again so I can find out what happens. I'm sure I will enjoy your commentary though!

  6. I have only watched one dancing with the stars and that was long ago.
I am going to watch this season only because I like Kirstie.
    I hope she does well.

  7. I tuned in late too and missed Wendy. I bet she was a hoot! Was really pleased to see Kirstie step up and do her thing - she has taken more than her share of abuse! Could Maks have met his match? :)

  8. Yup, you've been bitten! I'm pulling for Kirstie Alley and Hines Ward; Kirstie because she's just out there and Ward because I'm a life-long Steelers fan! I don't watch but keep up with who made the cut and who didn't!

  9. It's a private little thing that many of us watch. Wasn't Kirsty great? You know you are hooked when you start calling in for your fav's.

  11. They do two seasons a year. One in the fall and one in the spring.

Okay. I will admit it. I LOVE Dancing with the Stars. I don't watch every minute of each show but I really do love this show. it is always fun to see stars you know doing something out of their comfort zone. Well, for some. last season's Jennifer Grey made you smile, sigh and cry. Not sure who will be that special one this season but you are right Kirstie and Ralph look good. I also adore the judges. bruno is a trip and Len, well, while he can be dwonright nasty it is good entertainment. And great stitching programs. :) I hope you continue to watch. I'll be interested to hear your comments. :)
