GR&DF thank you for the kind words about Hetty - she is working up to be something really pretty. Last night while looking for a chart to loan out I came across a few more sampler charts that I had forgotten I had and thought to myself - "self you have way too much stash for your own good!!" So of course I pulled these lovelies together and added another sampler -
Miss Sarah arrived in yesterdays mail - isn't she a beauty!! such lovely colours - and the borders are just gorgeous!!! Now, when will I ever get the time to do this great piece?? I guess I am just a sucker for the sampler and it seems that it is an addiction that is quite near to out of control.
The stitching for the evening was exchange related so no snaps of that.
I did have some interest in our costumes from Hallowe'en Party so I thought I would post a couple of more snaps...... remember you asked for it!!
Filling the skull/fog machine for the extra creepy atmosphere...
Here is The Red Witch (Nicole) and Rico as Amy Winehouse...
Here is "Crazy" Paul dancing with Marvin the Martian (I am not sure who that was but I do know she made that costume) That's Kurt int he background.
and finally here we are towards the end of the evening - yes, that dress Rico has on is a shiny pleather/plastic - and you can't see them but, he wore thigh high pleather stiletto boots!! It was a great evening and I talked to Dale about it yesterday and he said they were still going strong into the wee hours of Sunday morning!! I am just way to old for that any more!!
The flicker last night was "To Hell and Back" - 1955 starring Audie Murphy - The true WWII story of Audie Murphy and his campaigns in Italy becoming the most decorated soldier in Army history. The film was based on the autobiography of Murphy. A pretty good flick overall.
There you go sports fans - don't forget about the drawing for the DVD's - go to yesterdays post to throw your name in the BOD!! Thanks for stopping by - do come again.
Take care,
edgar

I think Rico is prettier than Amy Winehouse :) Was he smoking incessantly all night? Or did he check himself into rehab at the end of the evening?
ReplyDelete:)
LOL!
Great Halloween pictures - thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteLove the sampler chart!
lol! You and Rico are so cute!! Are you the devil on Amy's shoulder, causing her to lead a wild, ill-spent life? :D I LOVE your mask, BTW.
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna have to agree with Vonna that Rico looks prettier than Herself. Poor AW! I think she's a younger than me by a year or two, and I remember thinking once, "Gosh, if she keeps this up she won't make it to my age."
Hooray for hidden stash, and Great Mail.
Oh I just love Sarah Woodham too -- she's on my short list of todo projects. :D Love the Halloween pics! What fun! And the movie -- I need to make a list of your favorite WWII movies for my son. He's heavy into WWII.
ReplyDeleteOh Edgar what fun costumes! Rico makes a wonderful Amy Winehouse, doesn't he? You're a pretty cute devil too!
ReplyDeleteI think stitching addictions that are out of control are the most fun! Enjoy your samplers.
LOL about Amy Winehouse--I agree that Rico is far better looking than Amy. Shouldn't he have put a big old ugly scab on his cheek?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness Edgar, you both look fab! Thank you for sharing the pics :-)
ReplyDeleteSarah Woodham looks divine!
Your pictures a such a hoot! Thanks for posting them. I'm not much of a sampler lover but I have seen Sarah Woodham a few times on other people's blogs and may have to think about adding it to the stash pile.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun halloween pics!! Gotta agree, Rico is MUCH prettier than AW and I'm sure you're MUCH cuter than the "real" devil!! LOL
ReplyDeleteI was never much of a sampler fan until I started wandering around blogland and now I'm hooked!!! I love 'e, love 'em,love'em and I'm always on the look-out for still MORE!! Thank goodness, fellow stitchers can understand and appreciate the obsession!! :) "Sarah" just MUST find a way to make it to my "pile".
Looks like you guys had a great time! Lucky lads! Great costumes too!
ReplyDeleteLove the sampler...it looks better with every post...until later...
HAPPY STITCHIN'
Terri

En français, aujourd'hui... Rico est fantastique!!! Le petit diable est trop discret... J'aime bien ton nouveau sampler et je comprends quando tu parles d'um vie: je suis en train de devenir folle de SALs... Je te fais un bisou. Bonne semaine! MJ
ReplyDeleteYa'll costumes look awesome! Thanks for sharing them with us!! It looks like a great time!!
ReplyDeleteI must concour Rico is prettier than Amy Winehouse!!!!! and you two look so cute together....
ReplyDeleteFabulous costumes! Our neighbors do a huge Halloween bash every year. I always make something outrageous for Joe and I go much more low-key. Usually I have a competition with the gymnasts the next day so I'm home by 10pm while everyone else stays until the early AM.
ReplyDeleteMagazines and DVDs arrived safely. Thanks so much!!
LOL Love the pic of you and Rico. I agree - he is prettier than the real Amy. :o)
