A Finish and a Little Start

Gentle friends, I worked out my camera problems... so I have some snaps today of the piece I've been working on for the past few months.... and here is the last Block or double-block from AotH...

...  for this Block, I needed to shifted most everything around to fit in the little poem I found.  Although what was charted was nice it really didn't say what I wanted to say with this piece so I went looking online and found this short poem.  I did stick with the floss group for the Block.......

and here's the entire completed piece.....

Black Bird Designs - "Anniversaries of the Heart"
March 19 - Septemeber 16, 2017
36ct Linen - using GAST and WDW

It was a really great piece to work on and I would highly recommend this to anyone thinking about stitching it!

After wrapping up AotH I already had a piece picked out to begin. I had the linen and the silk ready to go.... here's the little bit of a start I made yesterday...

Prairie Moon "Thine is the Trick or Treat"
Silkweaver 36ct Days Gone By
CC Belle Soie "Old Crow"

Although this is a monochromatic piece as charted... I think I will introduce some color here and there as I go along.

Wow! Love the stitching, love the verse.....once again I'm in awe and envy of your stick-to-it-niss (you know, completing one before you start another). lol Seriously, it's just beautiful!

Your Anniversaries piece is absolutely amazing! Have you chosen a special place to hang it? I did For Thine is the Trick or Treat a few years ago. I used white for the skeletons and orange (gingersnap) for the pumpkins. I love the way it turned out and am so glad I used color.

Love the poem in the last block. Sadly my A of the H is sitting waiting for me to dedicate each block. 2 done so far and I started it when it first came out! All blocks stitched just waiting on me to make decisions...
I also started the Praire Moon piece a month ago. 2 pages down! Thanks for keeping us posted!

Wonderful job on the anniversaries piece. I'm inspired to get mine going again. May I offer a suggestion - type the info on everyone in each block an put it between the mounting board and the backing so that someday if it is re-framed, everyone will know who all the initials and dates are. This is truly a heirloom piece.

Edgar, your AotH is amazing! I need to pull mine out and finish up the personalizations and I'll be done. I should have done it as I went along. Lesson learned! Looking forward to seeing the bits of color you're adding to the Prairie Moon piece!
