Tree Decorating in Silver and Stitches

Gentle Friends, so today is my tree day posting..... as you recall I hauled out the silver ornaments and gave them a good polish so that they would be nice, shiny and reflective......

.... here they are after being dried off..... and here's our tree....

... we waffled back and forth as to using a real tree or our stand by artificial tree....... all afternoon..... by the time we finally decided to put up a tree at all, it was far too late to go get one, so out of storage and up went the stand by tree.  We got all the silver ornaments on and it looked nice, but then Rico suggested I get out the stitched ornaments and put them on also.... and now I really like the tree, seeing all lovely pieces I've been gifted over the years makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about Christmas....... and such they conjure such wonderful memories....... here's a few close ups.....

...... I am really blessed to have so many friends in the stitching world stitch such wonderful pieces for me to put on my tree.  It's one of the great things about Exchanges, being able to sit back and see all the warm hugs these great little Christmas treats represent!!!

That about it for today sports fans, thanks for stopping by do stop again.

Take care,
edgar

  2. Your tree is beautiful. Your silver ornaments are so pretty. I don't think I would have the patience to add silver polishing to my yearly tree decorating, but they certainly add a lovely sparkle. They work beautifully with the handmade ornaments. Such a great way to feel loved.

  4. We put up our tree before Thanksgiving. I decided to allow secular ornaments on the tree this year so it's a mix of ornaments this year. We have a nice artificial tree but the top string of lights went out this year so we had to replace that string. It wasn't that hard, fortunately. We added a second small tree that is all sacred ornaments.

Love the mix of ornaments on yours. Where did you get all the silver ornaments? Do you find them on your thrift runs or were they inherited?

  7. I love this! It is so beautiful, and sweet. :)

I've probably hinted before, but the "something" I have for you is an ornament I need to do the finishing on! It'll be great if I gather inspiration from this display of delights to get that done! :P

  8. P.S. We had the exact same waffling on real vs. storage tree, but storage won due to timing. And, we don't own a tree stand!

  23. Beautiful tree. For the first time in years, I am thinking of not putting up a tree - just not feeling the umph needed to pull everything out. I have heard the same from so many people this year, I'm wondering what's in the water. Maybe I'll just keep the photo of yours and call it good.

  24. Your tree is beautiful! I started this comment HOURS ago, but I got sidetracked by the close ups, especially the ornament with the kid making a snow angel and had to go on a search for the design :)

  25. Unlike the often slap-dash of putting up the tree and getting the ornaments on.... yours is such a meaningful tree and could
be studied for its beauty for a
long time. It does also represent the circle of caring needlers who
have admired you through the years, kindred soul.

Would also love to make it....
