Miss Hutton Progress

Gentle Friends thanks again for stopping by, as I said yesterday I was going to post a progress snap of Mary Hutton....  as of last night here is where she stands.... sorry about how wonky the snap is.....

Mary Ann Hutton 1801 "A Christmas Sampler"

I didn't make a note of the linen, but I am thinking it is something 36ct, and I am using my conversion of Belle Soie silks.  I hadn't touched this piece in a good long while, so I am really enjoying getting back to her.  I am still not sure what I will put in place of MA's name, something will come to mind.

I also joined in on Nicola's Scarlet Letter SAL Blog II -There are Two Blogs now Blog I and Blog II.  There is some beautiful stitching going on over there, go check it out!!!

  4. ABSOLUTELY gorgeous! Edgar, you are quite the enabler when it comes to samplers. They are just about all I ever stitch anymore except Christmas ornaments and the occasional small. This one is so, so pretty. You are moving right along with her. :)

  6. Miss Hutton looks wonderful. I really like the fabric you chose for it. And glad to see that you're on board for the SL SAL. It's fun because you get so motivated when you see what other people are working on.

  12. Miss Hutton is nearly finished! You are doing great! I tend to gravitate to samplers without over one stitching and without people. And no specialty stitches. Looks like this one could go on my list! I have seen a few others out there... Thanks for sharing! Hugs!

  20. Looks fantastic, Edgar! And I've also been following Nicola's Scarlet Letter SAL blog and have ordered my first reproduction sampler kit from The Scarlet Needle (very excited for its arrival!) I decided upon Elizabeth Simon as my first reproduction sampler, but boy are there many to choose from on that site! I admit I started a rather long wish list here for myself. If you have any other sites which you enjoy for reproduction sampler kits and/or charts, I'd love to hear your suggestions or advice for someone such as myself who is just exploring these designs for the first time. I so far only know of Scarlet Letter and The Essamplaire, so if you have others you're happy with, I'd be so appreciative to learn about them. Thanks Edgar.
