Saying Goodbye

GR& DF not too much going on, the weather here in the city has been warm and lovely the past two weeks - breaking all records for this time of year  - the low to mid 70's during the day with light breezes - and plenty of sunshine.  It seems almost like an early spring.  I know that we are still in for some bad weather at some point but for now we just sit back and enjoy.
__________

Last night I had to say goodbye to my dear friend Dale.  I have talked about him on and off here at Blacksheep, well the last day of his San Francisco life came to an end and he leaves this morning driving back to North Carolina.  He has lived out here for 15 years+ and he felt it was just time to go back home.  We made a going away dinner for him last night serving some pretty tasty chicken enchiladas, Rico made a big salad and we wrapped up the meal with a Boston Creme Pie.  It is a sad day today........  Here's a snap of the both of us last Christmas - (with his silly stuffed Iguana).....

_________

That's about it for today sports fans - thanks for stopping by and for you kind comments - I do appreciate them all!!

Take care,
edgar

There is no distance too far between friends, for friendship gives wings to the heart.

Pass the tissues, please.

So sorry to hear that! They say change is good, but sometimes it's soo hard to accept. Thankfully technology has made it easy to stay close when you're really far away.

Oh, no! He's your friend for estate saleing, right? :(

I hope you'll be able to visit really soon, and that it's a good change for him in the end b/c right now it sounds really sad!

Sorry your dear friend has moved. I think this means a drive (or flight) to NC is in your future!

Tried to get the Jan/Feb issue of JCS and struck out. Plenty of quilting and beading magazines out there but cross stitch is a dying art.

Oh Edgar, I am sorry your dear friend is leaving San Fran. But now you have another place to visit! And hopefully he will be back to visit too. I know you will miss his company when you are checking the estate sales. :( But here's hoping he will be checking the ones in NC for you.

Oh I am sorry Dale is leaving but if it is what he wanted and will make him happy you will have to understand. I am sure you will manage to meet from time to time!Ariadne from Greece!

Never easy to have a freind move away that is for sure, and an estate sale buddy makes it harder. But Gee guys get Skype so you can still show each other your purchases. Sometimes my sister and I just turn it on and talk to each other while we are doing other things. I have love using it to see my grandchildern in Missouri since I leave here in Virginig. So all is not lost and I am sure you and Dale with stay in touch.

Awww, hugs to you, Edgar. I'm sure this is going to be a big adjustment for you. I wish Dale the best and hope that you'll find ways to have long-distance fun with him.
I know dinner was yummy but I'm sure the memories made are sweeter than that Boston Cream Pie.
Your stitching buddies are all here for you....

Hugs Edgar. I can feel the hurt from here. I say you give him a couple of months to settle in and then come to NC to see the azaleas in bloom. Spring is a pretty time of year to visit NC!

Hi Edgar, How sad that Dale is returning to the East coast. I do hope when you go and visit him you can drop by for a day or two here.

Sorry for being absent for so long, working 10 to 13 hours and then a stitching retreat. Almost back to normal.

Loving some of your recipes - lemon squares - yummm!

I am sorry to hear that Dale is moving back home and wish him a safe journey. He will surely be missed by you.

I hope you will carry on visiting the estate sales and showing us your finds. This way when Dale reads your blog it will be the next best thing to being there!

It is always hard when dear friends move away. Your Saturday sale excursions won't be the same without your buddy. Hope this move is good for Dale and that you both stay in touch!
