A Low Key Evening

GR&DF yesterday found us again in Dr. Cindy's office for an adjustment. OMG did I ever feel this one - you would have thought a popcorn machine was working overtime - she must have cracked every vertebrae and every joint on me - when she got to my neck and shoulders - she kept repeating over and over like some kind of mantra "you are so tight here"... "you are SO tight here"...... I think even after all the work on my neck and shoulders that "I am still SO very TIGHT there!!!" :)

We got home and Rico fixed some carne asada we had in the fridge. After that it was back to the salt mines and more cleaning!!!! Separating the crap stuff to be thrown away, from the crap stuff to be sold, from the crap stuff I just can not part with - YET.

It was not as long a session as the night before as I just couldn't get into the swing of it - after a hot shower I trotted on down stairs to the happy chair and flipped on the boob tube and found the first evening of TCM's Star of the Month movies on. This month they are honoring Claude Rains - Last evening were his films that got Oscar nods for his performances. I caught some of Casablanca and some of Mr. Skeffington - both top notch flicks that I would highly recommend and have talked about before here. I did watch a movie in its entirety - a Netflick Pix - "Call Northside 777" - 1948 - starring James Stewart. I had not heard of this film but really enjoyed it. A good movie about a cynical reporter trying to prove that an innocent man was railroaded into a life sentence for a crime he did not do. Well directed by Henry Hathaway and shot in and around Chicago the film has a very good and realistic feel about it.

I got about two stitches in on TiTD but not enough to show - so no snaps.

There you go sports fans!! Thank you for the comments I do enjoy and appreciate them!!

Take care,
edgar

  3. Oh my! I hope neck will loosen up soon. I am going to the chiro tomorrow. I had to go back sooner than later due to the shoulders and neck being tight too. I wonder if there is something in the air...lol.
    Feel better!

  4. I think I need to have my back popped a little bit, too!

Thanks for you comment on my blog. The sampler over my fireplace is called Mary Allen, The Village Square Sampler. It is only available from the Attic in Mesa, AZ. It was a wonderful piece to stitch and it is one of my favorites!

  5. The older I get the more I think I should go get an adjustment too. DH has offered to give me one but I don't think we are on the same page!

I think I'm starting to feel closet envy. :^)

  6. Have fun de-junking! I really hate doing that job, but love how I feel after it's done. I've been working on my storage room...so much to do.

Hope your neck gets feeling better. Does that make stitching difficult?

Thanks for posting on Sail Away. I really enjoy watching your progress.

  7. I'm a TCM hawk, too, Edgar. I watched Mr. Skeffington (because of my favorite...Bette Davis)for the 10th time, last week. Love it every time! Did you see "A Farewell to Arms?" Oh, it was an awesome Rock Hudson and Jennifer Jones movie. They were both sooo beautiful in their primes...
    Hugs, Deb
