Mystery Bonus Sampler Update

I am glad that you all will enjoy the PinWheel recipe. It is so easy and goes together very fast.

Last night was a stitchity flickery evening - like I am gonna break my routine I so enjoy!! I finished up another Christmas present and am really excited about how it turned out. I shifted out most of the floss' after seeing another stitchers finish and her conversion. I will post it with the other presents right after Christmas - which is now getting closer - only 170 days away. I then picked up my BBD Bonus Mystery Sampler and got a pretty good start on the last panel. Here is a snap of where it stands now -

It is just bee-bopping along and shouldn't need too much more attention.

The flicker for evening was a favorite of mine. Usually I pop a DVD in or flip over to TCM. Well I did neither - the Peach was sleeping on my neck and was just way to settled for me to move her. I picked up the flipper and since we have Comcast (which I hate BTW) - I pulled up the on demand TCM to see what was available and this month they have "Goodbye Mr. Chips" playing. Not the goofy 1969 musical version but the award winning 1939 version. Starring Robert Donat - as Chips - who BTW beat out Clark Gable - playing Rhett Butler - for the Best Lead Actor Academy Award. If you have never seen this movie I would highly recommend it!!

There you go - short and sweet!! Thanks for stopping by - and the great comments - they were very thoughtful and made my morning!!!

Take care,
edgar

  1. That mystery sampler is looking so good! Lately, I am thinking how good BBD things look--gotta be your influence!! :D I think the first one I want to do is a "Loose feathers" (is that the right name; I think it's a series??) called "Beneath the Sunlit Sky". I hope it's not some sort of LE that I won't be able to find anymore!

As for christmas stitching, I've been making some ornament kits from Mill Hill recently--boy, does beading take a lot of time! But, the ornaments are instrument themed and recall some from my childhood, so how can I resist! I finished the french horn, and have moved on to the mandolin!

We hate comcast here too! They are in our area, and just awful! We don't subscribe though, and they send boatloads of mail a week soliciting our patronage! I'm talking like 2 or 3 per day! Multiples of the same thing! I might get 10 or more in a "Busy" week! And, good luck getting them to stop! Glad you found something good to watch on demand, however!

  2. I love the sampler. And BTW, thanks for making me anxious about Christmas being so close! LOL! I can recommend DISH satellite--knock wood--it's been good (if expensive).

  4. Mystery Sampler is looking great. You are stitching that one up so fast!

I don't like comcast either but I have no options to move to something else with the wiring in the building. Oh well...

OMG...countdown to christmas!? You are so together. I'm just trying to get to the end of the week! :)

  10. Comcast stinks all the way to Tennessee so you are not alone. I am enjoying seeing your mystery sampler evolve. I will have to put that one on my to do list, along with the charts all the parts came from!

  11. Edgar, your Mystery Sampler is just lovely! I'm sorry if I missed it....what fabric are you using? I like that you're stitching on one piece of linen.

  12. That Mystery Sampler is gorgeous. How big is the finished piece? I need to get going on some Christmas gifts. With only 169 days left I better get started! Done quite a few little ornies, but they are all for the big sale at the gym on December 12th.
