A Little Stash - and - Happy 201st Birthday!!!

Gentle Friends, thanks so much for you kind comments and emails - they are such a wonderful "pick me up" this morning!!

I thought I would show the little goodies of stash I received while away....

"A Little Stash" - from l to r... Praiseworthy Stitches, "Santa's Midnight Ride," BBD Loose Feathers Fourth Pattern- 2012, "The Gift is Small," BBD "Violet's Blue," CCN Santa's Village #3 "North Pole Post Office" and LHN Little Sheep Virtue No. 1 "Hope."

Now, did I need any more stash, nope, did I want more, yep!!  Will I get to stitching these... hopefully at some point.  I love the border of the PS piece, and I always (or nearly always) love BBD Designs, so I had to have these two.  I will probably collect up the Santa's Village pieces before starting stitching and the Little Sheep Virtues are just too cute to pass on....  and I think I might already have a piece of mystery linen in my clutches that would fit this project, so I may start this series sooner than later.

I stitched some on Miss Mary last night, just some fill stitching in the grass area, not enough to show.

I also wanted to mention that today would have is the celebration of one of my favorite writers Birthdays

Charles Dickens - February 7, 1812 - June 9, 1870

You can click HERE to read all about him on Wikipedia.  I have always enjoyed his books and although he is not every ones cup of tea, I think he is one of the greatest writers to ever put pen to paper.

  8. I read Mr. Edgar's blog all the time
so why now put this to rhyme?
    I love Dickens and agree
he was ahead of his time you see
He wrote classics that are not forgotten
such as Ebenezer who was so rotten
    like most of Dickens's tales
he see's his errors and begins the wail
happy endings are what most seek
try Dickens my friends, come on take a peek
You'll sail seas and journey to summer's end
and who knows, you just might pick up a new friend

Now about the stash Mr. Edgar did receive
I saw something that made me want to achieve
some sort of success on 32 count I can not do
but a 16 aida, yeah, that I could choose
Santa on his sleight in the snowy night
houses below with snow on the roof tops what a sight
red, blue, white and gray, too
oh sucks, I've gotta go order this because of you!

Thanks Mr. Edgar for always inspiring me with your awesome blog! :)

  9. Hi Edgar,
Those are some great GOODIES! I treated myself to LHN Little Sheep Virtue too. I wasn't going to start anything new until I finished some WIP but I couldn't resist. Especially as I have it coming to me with the fabby and fibers. I just read today where someone is adding some Whisper to the sheep floss. i just might have to stitch another one :-)

  11. Like the stash,it looks like many hours of stitching fun. I think the LHN Little Sheep Virtue are going to be very cute all together or maybe as small framed pieces between two doors or windows. You know that spot where just nothing too big looks right.
Happy Stitching and glad your almost done with your Mom's things.

  15. Great stash. Looking forward to see your Sheep series started. I'm holding out on that one right now because I already started Santas's village. But it will be fun to watch yours growing.

  16. I love your stash. I ordered some at the JJ's sale! We had a wonderful Dickens reading at our local library in Dec. An actor read from several of his stories. Great fun!
