Thursday Looking at the Weekend

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends it is Thursday and I know I am and probably you are also, in fact we are all probably looking towards the weekend.  Ahhhhh those glorious two days of "rest."
__________

Not very much to report this morning - just sitting here - eating my raisin snail...

we picked up on the way in this morning......  drinking my faux Mocha coffee...

I throw a shot of Hershey's syrup in my cup of XXDark French Roast coffee -  et voila - faux mocha - and it's healthy too - read the add!!!

Not much else to report - worked some on Shores - lots of dark grey for the roof - I also found a little Fallish/Thanksgiving piece I want to stitch up before I get to Christmas stitching - I need to make a working copy ( I try and never stitch for the original) and pull a piece of linen, but I had all the floss I needed so it is practically kitted up.  :)
I wonder how many of us try and stitch seasonally???

I think that is about it for today sports fans - short and sweet..........sweet treats...... I do love a good raisin snail, now I'm back to the pastry!! - in fact I sort enjoy raisins in just about anything - delicious!!

Take care,
edgar

  1. Good morning. Thanks for sharing a post with us each morning. I always look forward to hearing what you are up to. How is Smokie doing.

Just wanted to say that I love to stitch seasonally especially for fall. I feel the need for rich browns, golds and oranges in my needle now.

    Have a great day.

  2. I tell everyone in my office that if it has raisins in it, it's healthy.....and they believe me...go figure!

  3. Your faux-mo sounds delicious! I will have to try it. :) I try to stitch seasonally but seems I am always behind. I try to stitch Christmas all year so I can give ornaments away and such. Can't wait to see what your new project is!

  4. Now that's my idea of a good breakfast!! I do get into the mood to stitch seasonally. Sometimes I wish I could anticipate the season so I would have the pieces done and framed for the season. But then maybe it's part of being in the moment. Looking forward to seeing your new project.

  5. I am happy you are enjoying your raisin snail, a new "name" for what I have always called a raisin cinnamon bun here in NY. I am not sure I could eat a "snail" anything no matter how luscious looking. You realize that term is going to stick in my head forever and ever. The big seasonal treat here is cinnamon raisin rugelach [all the bakeries and grocery stores stock them around Rosh Hashanah] and I'll be picking up a dozen or so on my way home from work.

  9. I've never heard of a pastry referred to as a snail. Looks so yummy though. And the coffee with chocolate syrup. Yum!

  10. Now that "snail" looks scrumptious!

I can honestly admit to not trying to seasonal stitch, lol! Maybe once I am more settled into a routine, say 5 years down the road (haha), I can try that kind of rotation in stitching. I figure that if I can just get done what I started each year I am doing well.

  11. Faux Mo - Yumm-O!!! :) I'm going to have to try that one. I love to stitch seasonally (sort of)...okay, this is way more than you wanted to know, but here goes...
I LOVE stitching Fall/Autumn/Halloween designs and anything Christmas. :) For some reason, I've yet to find anything spring or summer-y that has shouted "stitch me, stitch me" the way that fall and Christmas designs do. And, just imho, anything with a raisin counts as a serving of fruit! :)

  12. Oh my that looks yummy!

I always tell myself I will stitch something seasonal and I never do. I need to commit!

  13. I too like to stitch seasonally. I usually pick things for the season we are in..not stitching ahead into the next season.

I agree about the raisins. Love raisins in most things.

I'm looking forward to the weekend also, hopefully I will manage to get a blogpost done...:)

  14. That looks delicious, Edgar. And of course chocolate is good for you. Even more so when you put it in milk!

  15. Yum and yum! Faux mocha coffee and pastry sounds great. I love to stitch with the seasons, but I never seem to get things finished in that same season!

  16. I love to stitch seasonally, I also like anything with the four seasons as the design. Like Barb said, i wish I could anticipate the season instead of wanting to stitch fall during fall, summer during summer. I do try to stitch Christmas ornaments year round though. Love your "healthy" Hershey's! I love a "healthy" prune danish myself! Hugs, Nancy

  17. I love this post! And I did not know you were a raisin lover, but I suspected! (Does this mean that my intuition is good, or that I am remembering something I forgot? lol!) I also am liking them more and more as time goes on.

I must say that i despise hershey's syrup, though. But I adore hot fudge!

  18. I'm like you - I always stitch from a working copy; that way, my chart stays in pristine condition, in case I want to re-stitch it.

I love the look of that raisin snail! Yummy!
