A Stichity Posting

Gentle Readers and Dear Friends and my 550 Followers!!!!All three of those groupings intersect and cross over like a big warm blanket of camaraderie and solidarity - and that is a nice thing!!!
Another week whooshes by and we have arrived at September.
We have also arrived at a 3 Day Labor Day weekend - woohoo!!

Leaving early today with no plans - or not really any solid plans.
__________

I stitched last night on my mystery SAL that Carol over at IStitch is running.  It is a great little sampler -

I am using HDF silks - Ox Blood and Blueberry Soup on a piece of 32ct Sand Coloured Linen.  I thought I would add a bit to the snap so I included my favorite pair of scissors.
__________

I also had some mail  in the last few days - some nice new stash -

I added two of the new BBD charts, a new chart from Notforgotten Farm and the repro sampler from LHN.  I also acquired from another stitchers stash reduction sale "The Village Squared" sampler.  I have loved this piece since I first saw it over on Terri's Blog  - Chocolates for Breakfast; Stitching for Lunch - and now another super stitcher is a'stiching this wonderful thing - Robert over at A Gentleman's Samplings - click on over as he does some super work!!  I also added a couple of things to my ongoing Stash Sale, and will probably add more as I get through my binders of charts - Thanks you so much for giving it a look!!
__________

That's about it for today sports fans.  I will be back with another post on next Tuesday morning.  Until then have a great weekend and stay safe!!!

Take care,
edgar

  1. Love your mystery sampler--and the finish on your favorite pair of scissors, too! Are they dovo? I haven't tried that brand yet, but do keep eyeing them at Anita's shop. :D Also love the colors (oxblood; what a great name!) you are using.

Nice going on the stash acquisition, and have a great and refreshing holiday weekend.

    September already!?

  2. Ahhh....another one who can't resist Mary Allen. I was also drooling over Terri's - and some others. And started Mary a week ago. :) Can't wait for you to start her too.
Your Mystery SAL looks gorgeous. Love the color.

  3. I've got those exact same Dovo scissors, they're my favorite pair, too. Others are prettier but these ones just are the best ones to use.

Your mystery sampler is looking great, and so is that new stash! Do you have any linen in mind for the BBD Halloween Eve? I've just ordered it and will probably not even try to resist the urge to start it asap.

    Have a great weekend Edgar!

  12. Your sampler is coming along very nicely...what silks are you using - wasn't familiar with the HDF. I am sure that I know it, just can't come to my brain this late on a humid, hot Friday here in Michigan...

I have seen progress on Terri's "Mary Allen" by Village Square Sampler in person, I think...I have seen quite a few of her samplers in progress or completed in person as we go to the same Kindred Spirits Sampler Guild...in fact, she is the one who hooked me up with blogging and is responsible for my stalking, lurking and ever growing "must check out and probably own" list! LOL She is such a sweetie and a inspiring stitcher!

Congrats on the 550 followers - I just reached 60 and am thrilled!!

Hope you have a marvelous weekend ushering in September. I look forward to hearing what you did for fun over the long weekend!
