A Little Thrifting

Gentle friends, it's been a while since I've posted a thrifty Thursday so here goes...

... from left to right... a super silver roll-over breakfast serving dish ca. 1915, a large Deco "Head vase," a little matryoshka and a great "Imari" patterned plate...

... the matryoshka breaks up into six little dolls...

... a better snap of the stylish Deco vase - when I fist saw this piece I thought it was just a ceramic sculpture, but when I turned it over to see the mark I found there is a large vase opening behind the hat...

... I am a big fan of Grumpy Cat and when I saw this in a bookstore I knew I had to get a copy - I already have a nice collection of the Christmas Little Golden Books and this LGB about Grumpy Cat fits in nicely...

  1. The vase is fantastic! I've not seen anything like that before. And, as always, I'm extremely envious of the matryoska... you certainly have good fortune in finding them.

  2. I think there is never anything that good in the shops here. But I've probably walked past some things thinking eh that you would know to pick up. And then after seeing them on your blog think I never find anything that good. It's all in the eye! lol But I would know to scoop up those little *dolls*. You must have quite a collection by now.

  4. That breakfast server would add a bit of elegance to your buffet. I am sure it is all shined up because of you and your mad polishing technique. Which I have been asking you to talk about but I guess it will remain a secret. Have a great weekend.
