A Stone appears and a"SMS" Update

Gentle Friends over the weekend, Saturday evening about 7:15 or so, the "stone of death" that has been plaguing me for the past month or so passed..... I was doing my thing and whizzing through the cone/screen that the Doctor at the Emergency room gave me  - like I have been for two weeks and there it was, no pain no nothing, just one second it was not there and the next it was...... so I'm taking it to be analyzed as I was requested to do and I'll probably be cancelling my Urologist appointment for later in the week, now that the problem is no more.  BTW the stone seems pretty big to me, I'll not pop a snap on the Blog since that ain't classy.  ;)

Here's a snap of where I am with SMS as of last night....

... I've changed a couple of silks along the way and will catch all that up later on.

I made it over to Needle in a Haystack and picked up some fun stuff, I'll show tomorrow.

Thanks for stopping by, do stop again!!

Take care,
edgar

  1. I am glad the stone passed. With my son's stone it just happened that he felt it while passing and took it before it ended in the toilet. No cone or anything given to us in hospital. But here we don't test the stones although I wish we did. Please let me know when you have it tested what kind of things they tell you about it. ariadnesky(at)hotmail(dot)com

Your stitching progress is amazing under the circumstances, Edgar. Thanks to your inspiration,
I am about to embark on the
Christmas hued sampler you completed not to long ago, although I shall never complete it in your record time.
    Enjoy your pain-free day.

  9. I was flicking through the blogs as I ate my tea..saw your title and figured it would probably be best to finish eating before reading. After having three children you wont get much sympathy from me rofl, but I am glad it has cleared up by itself. Heres to a long, looong time of uninterupted, pain free stitching!

  10. So glad you are no longer "stoned"!! =) I can't imagine how painful it's been, and of course the whole screen thing can't have been "awesome" to have to do.

    SMS looks great!

  11. I'm glad to read that you got rid of the nasty stone! I had one years ago, and I know the kind of pain you were in with it. They did surgery on mine and blasted it into pieces small enough to be passed. It took about a month but at the end they were gone. :)

  17. So glad to hear you had a "safe passage"!!! I think they analyze the stone to tell you what kind it is and what to do to avoid making more! (At least that's how it was in my experience! My Dr. had a lovely poster of all the different kinds! LOL!) Anyway, good riddance and on to fun times!
Your stitching is lovely, as always!

  26. Love this sampler you're working on. Edgar. Really beautiful. Glad to hear you've passed your kidney stone. I am perpetually plagued by the darn things, as was my father and grandfather. Gotta love genetics, eh? Once yours is analyzed, ask your doc about taking magnesium as a preventative. I've had stones since I was 16, and only last year was I told that by taking a daily magnesium supplement I could prevent future stones forming as regularly! Never heard that one before, but I'm trying it for sure. Feel better.
