Some Recent Stuff

Gentle Friends I wanted to say again how much all the kind words you have sent via Commenting, Emailing or the lovely cards in the mail really have made a great deal of difference - and I do thank you all so much!!
______________

With everything going on in the last few weeks - one of the things we didn't do is take our annual  snap of our "little family" at Thanksgiving.  I guess we'll try and get one this Spring.   By the way our family has grown by one "who hound" -   a little black and tan Chihuahua rescue named Wahumpa that I call Hunka-munka.  I'll get a snap up at some point.  He is super feisty and really gives Smokie a workout.  We did put up our tree, but not much else, just not feeling it this year.  My Christmas Cards are going out really late also.....
___________

On the stitching front I have been working on ATS a bit....  here's a snap...

Not sure if I'll get it finished by the end of the year like I planned, but I'll give it the old college try!!
_____________

We made it out to the Mall for some Christmas Shopping....

I got a snap of Santa and he and the elves were doing a super job with the all the children.  We got a lot done and most of it will go into the mail in the next couple of days.
___________

Yesterday I baked a Pineapple upside-down cake for Rico and his work buddies

- it was a request from Jose - he helped us with a flat tire we had last week - so the least I could do was whip up a cake!!  Thanks Jose!!
___________

That's about it for today sports fans, thanks again for stopping by, do stop again!

Take care,
edgar

Doing everyday things always helps...and I remember I was putting together a large knitted bedspread, different squares then joined together when my father passed away...I finished after the funeral...it has now become a favorite and very special. You may feel this way about something you are working on now. Now I want some cake...........

That cake looks gooo-ood! And the platter its on looks really pretty! Ever go to Homegoods? I'm obsessed with their dishes, I even bought some Spode there for a ridiculously low price. Hope you have a good holiday, be kind to yourself and don't feel the holiday pressure unless you WANT to! Merry Christmas!

You are a glutton for punishment Edgar, another dog:-) Pets are such fun to have and they bring so much love and pleasure into our lives. He's a lucky little fellow to have found you.

Is that Hunka Munka the mouse from Beatrix Potter?

Your ATS is just beautiful. There are years like the one you are having. Take good care of yourself and just do what feels right to you.

I'm glad you are trying to still do some Christmas activities Edgar even though you are grieving. ATS is coming along nicely and remember, stitching is our sanctuary, not an obligation.

Edgar! How I have missed reading your blog...without realizing it, you became a comforting, important part of my day. Welcome to the lucky "who-hound". Nice picture of Santa. Getting cold up here in Ottawa. Good to see ATS.

Glad to see your back. Congratulations and welcome to the new hound - a mouthful of a name for a little dog! ATS is looking great. As fast as you stitch, you should be close to finished by the end of the year. I too am way behind on my holiday preparations but have told everyone that if the card gets there after the 25th than I'm 364 days early for 2013!
