A Little Stitchin'

Gentle Friends..... after I got to feeling better I picked up my stitching where I left off and....

... so I finished up the rest of border and then thought about how I was going to go about stitching the rest of the sampler.  Since this is such a large piece and I do not like griding or stitching within grid threads I needed to have some sort of structure to stitch from.  The banner that runs across the upper middle seemed like a good place to stitch a jumping off point.  As I stitched through the words I modified some of the letters with extra stitches - I like it better.  Next up I think I'll stitch in the Tree of Knowledge in the lower half that will section off the bottom.

  4. It’s looking great! I just finished this piece and the last things I stitched were the border and the last half of the words! We all have our own methods.

  6. Glad to hear you are better. We are just getting over the plague ourselves. It took my DH 14 days and I'm going on 7 and still coughing and having a headache everyday! Well, on to stitching. That border is beautiful. I often stitch the border first and work from it I don't even know how to do a grid.

  7. Looking good - I like your thinking of adding the words for a reference point to stitch other areas.
