A Little Road Trip to Monterey Bay Part IV

Gentle Friends,  and finally we arrive and the last post about our day in Monterey... after the Aquarium we headed right out the front door and along Cannery Row...

.... since the day was still bright and beautiful was a nice to walk in the sun ...

... there are spots along the way where you can see the open Bay...and has an open feeling instead of a built-up wall of condos...

... there is a lovely park that has at the front a bust of Johna Steinbeck and a newer larger statue of nine historical figures... this area is called Steinbeck Plaza...  then it was on to lunch.....

... Turkey club...

... roasted Chicken Salad...

... and I had a Chef's Sampler Platter of tempura fish, shrimp, and squid "steak strips"...  then some live music started up and we settled in for a little listen...... and another round...

.... with a delicious Buffalo Trace bourbon Old fashioned!!!  It was a lovely afternoon!!!

  1. I loved your pictures. We were in Santa Cruz 2 years ago. I had planned to spend the next day in Monterey. That's when I fell off the high step, smashed my L1 vertebrae and the rest is history. We never made to to Monterey. For awhile , I thought I would never be able to go there. Thanks to your wonderful pictures and time, I think that is a trip we should make.

  2. Looking at your pictures, I can see that I need some time at the shore to watch waves.

  3. I love all the pictures, but my favorite ones are of the bay and ocean. The water is so blue and horizon seems to beckon to even more adventures. Looks like a good time was had by all. Thanks again for letting us tag along on your adventures. I am still trying to figure out just what candies I want to put into my "pick any 2 boxes for $20."....so far, I am thinking a simi truck is boxes shaped...you see where I am going with this, right? :) Have a great day.
