Gentle Readers and Dear friends.... sorry about yesterday, but they were some major computer melt downs here and that means no posting. It has stayed pretty chilly here in the Bay area and late this afternoon we are expecting some rain - which means in some of the higher elevations they will probably get some snow!!
____________
I wanted to get a little snap of my "ABC" piece - this is actually yesterdays snap and I am a it more along than this, but it will have to suffuice..
It is just moving along nicely and I can see having this completed and the chart on the road again by Monday....
____________
Yesterday on the way home from work we stopped off to get the car smogged (here in CA you have to pass a Smog Certification in order to get your registration sticker) We have been going to the same Smog Station for the past few times and we did so again - It is a 76 Station that is a "Test Only" which means if there is anything wrong with your car and it doesn't pass then you have to go some where else to fix it.. Well, while waiting I was staring off into oblivion and noticed this great piece of advertising...
It has a great retro look and I love the slogan "It Hasta be Shasta" - I can not remember the last time I had a Shasta drink, but now I am really craving one!!! So that painted wall worked on me!!! I'm a sucker for a good slogan or a good piece of advertising.
____________
That's about it for today sports fans. Thanks for stopping by, do come again.
Take care,
edgar
You're right ... that's a great Shasta ad! The ABC piece is looking good! Blessings, Shirlee
ReplyDeleteCute sign, and I love the stitching. The colors are so pretty! We are having lots of rain too. It can't make up it's mind if it wants to snow or rain, and yesterday we got both.
ReplyDeleteI will try and mail out the RR piece to you today. If I don't get to it, I'll do it tomorrow. It's going to be a busy one. :) Hugs.
Love your stitching. Its looking great. Love the color a lot.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great retro sign! It's so cool when you find things like that. In my neighborhood there is a huge stone dinosaur which now houses a vehicle service station. It even has eyes that light up! At one time it was that gas station "Sinclair". I found info on it if your interested on this website. It even has pictures http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/1954
ReplyDeleteLove your ABC piece! Great color choice!
Ah yes the results of good advertising! I don't mind when it's something like soda pop but it kills me when it's a juicy burger or fresh donuts!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love what you are doing with ABCD. I have to go back and see what color you said you are using. It's just so lovely.
You "ABC" piece is coming along nicely. I am looking forward to it's arrival.
ReplyDeleteCompanies love it when their slogan makes you want to go out and get some. Looks like it worked on you. Go satisfy your gravings.

I love retro advertising. :D And your ABC is looking good! NY doesn't have smog certification, but you still have to have an inspection every year. Pain in the tail. lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on the ABC pattern !!
ReplyDeleteFun ad and I love the ABC piece too :-).
ReplyDeleteLovely stitches ~ those colors are great! And a very cool sign ~ I didn't realize they still made Shasta!
ReplyDeleteYour ABC piece is looking so pretty. I can't wait to see the finish.
ReplyDeleteHi Edgar, love the sampler. Can you believe, I'm actually doing a sampler myself. I never used to be a sampler girl but I guess my tastes changed after I got married and had kids. It's whitework.
