A Monday Posting...

Gentle Readers and Dear friend the weekend went by much too fast - as always.

Saturday was just beautiful here, bright blue, breezy and full of sunshine.  A very nice day all the way around.  I made it to two Estate sales, 4 Thrift/Consignment shops and found zero things to buy.  Sometimes it is just that way.  There was lots of stuff to buy, but nothing hit me just right - and I already have a pileo'crap now - There will be other sales and other weekends.
_________

I did some stitching on my LHN Monthlies - and of course I can't get the colours right - or to my liking, but I want to show a progress snap so here 'tis.....

The linen is not pink by any stretch of the imagination, but for some reason the reds are a bit off and I just can not wonky them back to normal, but you get the idea.  I have started up April and will have it done by the end of the month.
_________

On other stitchity notes I went through the majority of my stash and found quite a few things I no longer need or have stitched and will not restitch - so I will have that stuff together and up at some point soon.
_________

Yesterday the city was completely encased in a dense and damp fog for the majority of the day.  It was more on the windy side and less breezy than Saturday - a more typical SF day.  We went to early Mass - and Palm Sunday services where just lovely - and after we got home stayed in for the rest of the day.  It was a very nice way to spend the remainder of the weekend.

There you go sports fans - thanks for stopping by - do come again!!

Take care,
edgar

  2. Your weekend sounds ideal...sometimes I have more fun just looking through all of the treasures and imagining who and where they have come from, than I do purchasing. I am the princess of "let's make up a story about this..."

I love love love your monthly sampler, and I think the reds look great, but I know what you mean sometimes a floss looks one way and then totally different when I put it to fabric...I can't wait to see it progress.

I love SF weather, there is none other like it when the fog rolls in!

Have a wonderful week cutie, and have a most blessed Easter....any special plans?

Hugs and kisses from your Ma :)

PS...I told Pa to paleeese watch Netflix for Mildred Pierce, your description made me want to watch it, especially with Miss Kate. I had read that they were going to expand on Veda and follow the book more, just what you said.

  3. I think your LHN monthlies are just lovely, Edgar! I am sure the colors are just perfect. It is so hard to get a true color picture, especially of our needlework. Maybe one day the camera gods will smile on us and deliver a true color camera!

  4. I love how your LHN monthlies are coming out. This will be such a pretty piece! Having one beautiful day and one damp day over the weekend isn't bad at all. And relaxing on one of them is a good thing to do!

  5. Great progress, Edgar. Don't you hate when pics don't show their true colors (oh brother, now I'll hear Cyndi Lauper in my ear for the next two hours singing True Colors).

Sounds like a perfect weekend you two had. We are having snow today. True. Sad, but True.
    Have a good week!

  7. Your monthlies are looking nice. I wonder if maybe the fabric is making your colors not come out as you like?!

Sounds like you had an enjoyable weekend!!

  9. Your making great progress on your LHN Monthlies. Don't think I'd care too much for a day of dense fog.

  13. Your LHN monthlies are coming along great! I know how you feel, I am always changing a color because it just doesn't look perfect on the fabric. Then I'll use a different color that is just the slightest different shade and I'll be happy. The things we drive ourselves crazy with LOL
