A Songbird Passes

GR&DF thank you so much for your concerned emails. I have been completely wiped out by a cold - since Monday evening. In fact from about 8pm Monday until 8pm Tuesday I was a completely comatose and curled up snotty mess - hows that for a visual!! I answered a few emails yesterday but had to get a least an end of the week post up. Working at about 65% is tough but a cold is mostly mind over matter - or head over toilet!! :)

On Wednesday we lost one of the lovely songbirds of the cinema -

Kathryn Grayson - 1922-2010

A short but stunning career that included the 1951 remake of "Showboat" and the 1953 triumph in "Kiss me Kate." Both films are shown regularly on TCM as are many of her other performances. I would recommend them all.

I have not touched a needle since Monday evening - but I did want to show a piece I framed -

This is one of the frames I picked up last Saturday and I couldn't be happier with the way it turned out - almost like it was made for the piece. I have an idea for the second frame but it may not work - we shall see.

That's about it for today - I am staying close to home this weekend and trying to get back to 100%. I did want to share a snap of some trees - looking out our sliding glass door it does look like spring has sprung....

Have a great weekend!!

Take care,
edgar

So glad you are doing a little better. I figured you were under the weather and if you weren't posting I didn't figure you'd be making your way to the computer to read emails, therefore I didn't send one. I was thinking about you though. I am taking a small break from my blog and stitching as the iritis has flared again. I am having a few clear moments this morning so reading a few blogs. Miss Grayson was a beauty wasn't she? Love the sampler!! You get to feeling better soon so we don't have to go through Edgar withdrawls!!

Thanks for the Friday post! We all needed our Edgar fix before the weekend!

Maybe with the spring flowers, it will help you feel better! Drink a hot totty and get back to yourself! Lots of rest and hot soup.

And I can't believe what I see on the picture of the trees - spring has arrived to your corner of the world. Enjoy it!
Good to read that you already feel a bit better by now.

My goodness, how did I miss Kathryn Grayson's passing? How sad...yet another great from the Golden Age is now gone :-( I hope TCM does a tribute day for her...she's in several movies I just love.

Get well soon! The frame looks great. I am so rubbish at framing. I wouldn't trust myself to do it properly. Don't know if you got my mail but trade stuff is in the post but might take a few weeks. x

How beautiful Ms Grayson was in her younger days.

Great piece of framing and just perfect for your piece. I have Bea in the framers to be done before my sister's birthday next month. It's a first to be done at a new framers - I hope they make a good job of it.

Enjoy your weekend and be well really soon.
