Gentle Readers and Dear Friends - we had 3 wonderful days off (Rico took today off also, so he has another day for napping with the who hounds!!) We really didn't do too much - in fact not much at all!!
We had breakfast out and take out or delivery for dinner - except last night.... I made ham, baked sweet potato for me and baked russet for Rico, garlic green beans and a super easy summery dessert.
_________________
I did some stitching... finishing up Block 11..
and an overall shot...
I set my goal and actually made it!! Shores is stitched on 36ct LL Vintage Autumn Gold using the recommended NPI Silk. Only one more Block (sort of) I did start the stitching on Block 8 -this is also a monster fill in Block - but instead of pale Jade it uses lots of pale Grey.
__________
I also worked some on an Exchange piece and my CC Cottages piece, but I don't have any photo's of them to show, yet.
__________
Now, back to the Summery Dessert... all you need is....
... and Angel Cake, whipping cream and some Strawberries... take the hulls off the starwberries and cut in half - place in a bowl and sprinkle some sugar over them..
In a little while they will start to release lots of delicious juice and soften up. Take the whipping cream and whip to a stiff peak - add a little sugat to the cream if you would like sweet cream. Cut a hunk of cake, ladle some strawberries and juice over the cake and plop a big old dollop of delicious cream on top et viola!! A super easy dessert that foreshadows the oncoming summer!!
You can subsitute Pound Cake or even a short cake under the starberries.
____________
That's about it for today sports fans - thanks for stopping by!! Do stop by again!
Take care,
edgar
