Gentle Friends... we've been having some really hot weather for this time of year here by the Bay... Monday the high was about 98... Tuesday with a high of about 90... and today is supposed to only get to the low 80's but we'll see later on... what' good is that it only lasts a few days then it's back to the upper 60's low 70's... what's bad is that there is no air-conditioning in my life... none at work and none at home..... only in the car during the ride to and from work or shopping can I crank up the air and sort of get cool/cold... all this heat will break in the next day or two, but it's too hot to stitch in the evenings so I sit in front of a fan with a bourbon a soda and swelter.... and... watch "The Spanish Princess" a pretty good show!!
Over the weekend in addition to the usual running around, we headed over to Japan Town...
for lunch and a little shopping...
... and we headed to our favourite little Japanese eatery... Kushi Tsuru....
... starting off with Hiyashi Wakame (seaweed salad) delish!! and some starter sushi... Tobiko (flying fish roe) on the left and Hamachi (yellowtail)..... then it was on to the delicious roll...
... a Spicy Tuna Roll...after lunch we walked around a bit and ended up at Kinokuniya a really large bookstore with tons of fun Japanese things and books... so I picked up from a large collection of little Nano Block projects.....
... and I put that sucker together when I got home. Thank goodness, there were detailed instructions because there would have been no way I could have gotten a finished Grey Wolf from a bag of tiny blocks.

I also picked up this new soda... and really liked it!! I like Coke, always have always will, I really do not like Pepsi, RC or off-brand colas, but I like a good cold Coca Cola!! Flavoured Cokes never really hit the mark with me and Cherry Coke is a flavour that makes me gag, so I was leery of trying this one but was pleasantly surprised after a sip or two... and even bought some to have at home!!

Dearest Edgar: I love Japanese food, Mike live in Atsugi Japan for two years his girlfriend at that time taught him to cook.
ReplyDeleteThe food you had looks yummy.
I am so sorry it has been hot, here it has been chilly.
I love cherry Pepsi but not cherry Coke just to sweet.
Have a beautiful week.

Well Edgar, you do have my sympathy with the heat. After all I moved out here primarily to get away from hot summers. We have had our share and a few years ago, we broke down and got AC. We were especially glad for it last summer when our air quality went so bad. We did use it more than ever last year. I still much prefer our usual lovely cool air and all my windows open! Stay cool !
ReplyDeleteEdgar, I always enjoy your write-ups. I always feel like you are telling a close group of friends what you have been up to and I just love it. I do hope your weather cools off a bit for you!
ReplyDelete...and as I have said before, if I ever hit it big with the lottery, I need you guys to be my travel guides. You seem to know so much about all the places you travel. (I love your travel stories!)
Far too hot for me. The wolf is sweet, a new hobby?
