A St. Patricks Drawing

Gentle Friends the weekend was probably the most normal one I've Have in a few weeks - we went out thrifting... nothing to buy, and I certainly don't need a thing!! - went to dinner with Friends on Friday and Saturday nights - I love it when someone else cooks and cleans!!   - and - even got a little stitching in here and there!!  However, I also had a frog or two yesterday from the little stitching, so I didn't get as much in as I took out, but thems the breaks sometimes.
_______________

A few months back I found a really sweet piece of Belleek porcelain - and thought then it would make a super Gift-a-Way in March.  I also picked up a copy of "The Quiet Man" directed by John Ford and starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara - one of my favorite films - and a great treat to see around St Patrick's Day.  My St Patrick's Gift-a-Way is totally Irish - a great film and a shamrock covered jug!!

The piece of Belleek is  a small jug shape with a 2nd green mark indicating it was made between 1955 and 1965 (but I could be wrong about the dating of the mark those green marks all kinda look the same to me)

Now, anyone from anywhere can enter this Gift-a-Way, so long as I can get in contact with you at the end and you can receive mail - easy peasy.  Just leave your entry in the Comments on this Post Only and that's about all you have to do!!  Since St Patrick's falls on a Sunday, I'll have the "Hag Claw" and "Who Hounds" do the drawing on the 17th and announce the Winner on Monday, 3/18.  You have two weeks to get your name into the drawing as I will close it out on Friday afternoon, 3/15.
____________

That's about it for today sports fans - thanks for stopping by, do stop again!!

Take care,
edgar

Lovely give-away, Edgar. I have never seen the Quiet Man. I know I know....I think I have seen every John Wayne but that one. I always miss it on TCM. Speaking of TCM what do you think my chances are of Robert Osborne accepting an invitation to my house for dinner? lol I would love to pick his brain.

I would love to win! I have to tell you that for Valentines Day, my husband took me to see a classic showing of the Quiet Man. Seeing it on the big screen was great! To see all the expressions at all the lines I know by heart was perfect! You just can't see that on the TV!! Have a wonderful SPD!!!

Edgar!
I've been missing in action and almost completely ground to a total blog-stop since my life upheaval last May (left the hubby after 25 years!)
I've not read blogs since then and I'd like you to know that yours was the first one that I clicked on - and it's like catching up with an old friend (yes, I know - go easy on the old!!) YOu are still blogging about such wonderful treasures and your cooking and omg - love that sampler you have recently finished.
Huggity Hugs Edgar - I really feel that I've rekindled a long-lost friendship. (no need to enter me in the competition - thanks anyway!)

My Mother would love the Belleek and the movie. She collects little bits of Irish porcelain on and off. Her grandparents were born in Ireland. She had me cross-stitch the Irish saying (May the road......) many years ago. Long saying, almost all green. I was so glad when it was finished. It hangs in her living room and she loves it. cjeffrey@optonline.net
