Gentle readers and Dear Friends I got back to SF early Sunday morning and was back to work yesterday, hitting the ground running!! I had 100's of emails it seems and I am still going through them. I also had lots of great mail (more about that tomorrow).
Today I wanted to catch you up on that ongoing monster stitch ..... "And They Sinned." I finished up the 5th Section, I was very surprised at getting that done. Here's a sectional snap...
I was able to get lots of the grass done on the layover and flights back to SF. Here's an overall shot...
Now, it is on to the 6th - and last - section, but probably the most grueling since it is a solid stitched area. I will have to put this down for a bit as I have three smaller pieces I need to work on and finish up for some exchanges I am in, but I'll get back to ATS as soon as I can.
____________
I want to leave you with a snap of the Daytona Beach just north of the Ormond approach and looking north towards Flagler beach. I spent a few hours with a book just enjoying the quiet, breezy day....
I'm not really a "beachy" person, but this quiet time alone was a real high point of the week!!

This post is full of gorgeousness...I'm not sure what's better--the colors in ATS or the colors in that beachy shot!!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you had a wonderful time in FL. Your ATS WIP is stunning. You should be proud of your continued commitment to stitching this huge piece.

Great progress, Edgar! I'd go for a quiet day on the beach right about now. Can't wait to hear more about your trip and what the mailman brought you while you were away. Have a great day! Good luck with the emails.
ReplyDeleteNice to have you back. I am, as always, enjoying the ATS photos.
ReplyDeleteYour ATS is lovely - can't wait to see the finish. And the beach picture (sigh) just what I needed today. Glad you're home safe and sound!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work on ATS Edgar! And the ocean looks so peaceful. Glad you had a great time.
ReplyDeleteHappy Stitching

Your ATS is amazing! And that beach pic -- oh wow! Blue skies and the ocean. What more does one need? Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteWelcome Home! Your trip sounds wonderful, and I am so glad that you took time to just relax and enjoy.
ReplyDeleteYour progress is fantastic, Edgar, that is a hard chart and I commend you for sticking with it, as it will be stunning when it's finished!

Edgar - Wow! ATS is coming right along - what an amazing stitch you'll have when it is done.
ReplyDeleteATS is looking great. You are moving on it so fast!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!What a beautiful beach,eh I mean stitch!AriadnefromGreece!
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good week! Your ATS gets more beautiful each time I see it : )
ReplyDeleteATS is looking fab
ReplyDeleteYour getting there
Pretty beach scene, wish I lived someone close to a beach, I guess I have a river in my back yard, that wil have to do, lol
ATS Is stunning. What a spectacular view of the beach, very tranquil looking.
ReplyDeleteAh, sitting on the beach reading a book sounds so relaxing.
ReplyDeleteYour ATS looks wonderful and don't fret about the grass. It's not as bad as it looks. Work it in sections around the motifs and you'll break up the monotony.
Great progress!
ReplyDeleteThe ATS is truly amazing and the beach photo , beautiful! Glad you were able to get some good beach time.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back safely. ATS progress is admirable!
ReplyDeleteThat is a MONSTER piece! Do you have room on your wall for it? ;)
ReplyDeleteMy youngest daughter decided to try to eat my DMC 820 so I picked up a new skein at WalMart because I figured $.30 was easier then trying to clean the existing bobbin (it got goldfish crumbs in it too! ick!).
ATS is gorgeous and that beach is just beautiful
ReplyDeleteHi Edgar, your ATS is looking wonderful, Yes, the bottom of it is a slog, but you'll feel so accomplished when it's done.
ReplyDeleteThat stretch at Daytona is one of my favorite beaches too. So glad you had the chance to enjoy it!
ATS looks good!
ReplyDeleteGreat stitches and beautiful beach shot!
ReplyDeleteWow, ATS is looking fantastic. Lovely beach shot.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how I missed this post, but I did..and then I noticed "back from Florida" on your side bar....Dude, I can't believe you were at this beach...I have been there so many times.
ReplyDeleteThe next time you get that way...you just have to head to Palm Coast on A1A and stop at The Washington Oaks State Park, it's a garden with hundreds of years old oaks trees...it's awesome...you can also go across the street (A1A) and visit the beach, which has the lovely red/shell sandy thing going on so familiar with that area.
Anywho...I just had to let you know that blew my socks off seeing that beach on your blog. :)
