Gentle Friends, although I've not posted a snaperoo of the stitching from Sarah that got done last week... I didn't want to just let things go... so how about a really lovely film I saw over the weekend on DVD in the "Sheltering Place" that I call home!! It was "The Farewell" a film by Lulu Wang...
... I totally enjoyed this film "based on an actual lie" very much ...
I think that this still from the film sums up the whole wonderful piece...
... I love Akwafina's portrayal of the grandaughter caught between the old and new worlds and her Golden Globe for Best Actress was well deserved!! She should have at least been nominated for the Oscar, but the entire film was overlooked of even one nomination... the Academy has made mistakes in the past and once again another mistake.
It was a beautiful film and although the ending was a totally happy ending it was satisfying and felt real! So, now that I'll be SiP* once again this week, and from the Skype meeting this morning at least SiP through next week... there are quite a few more films and things I'll be watching !!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the recommendation... I've not even heard of this film. Take care!
ReplyDeleteDearest Edgar: I agree with you I think the judges are biased as to what they like, I think she is an amazing actress, we will see more of her in the future.
ReplyDeleteI hope you Rico and the hounds are healthy and enjoying some time at home.
